A large arched doorway leads from the dining area into the fully equipped kitchen with a gas cooker, oven, fridge complete with freezer compartment, microwave, electric kettle and a toaster. One of the bathrooms is also on the ground floor, equipped with a bath/ shower , wash basin, large mirror, a bidet and a toilet, washing machine and hairdryer. A flight of stairs leads up to the second floor where you will find the two bedrooms which also boast exposed wood beam ceilings. The main bedroom is furnished with a double bed (140cm x 190cm), a triple wardrobe providing plenty of storage space and benefits from an ensuite bathroom with a shower cubicle, wash basin and toilet. The second bedroom is bright and airy thanks to three windows and is furnished with two single beds (90cm x 185cm each) that can be pushed together to make a double bed. Although the thick walls of this old Spanish style house keep out the heat in the summer, ceiling fans and upright fans are available. During the cooler winter months, you can use mobile gas heaters.
Large glass doors lead from the main bedroom onto a small Julienne balcony. A set of stairs leads from the second bedroom to the sun terrace with a table, four chairs and a sun shade. From here you can enjoy the views across the rooftops to the mountains. There is a public parking space right outside the front of the house and more parking nearby.
The host meets you on arrival and is always happy to assist with any questions you may have and provide information about the local area.
Your holiday home is only minutes away from the centre of the village, within walking distance of a supermarket and butcher shop, several bars , restaurants, (some with free Wi-Fi internet access) that tempt with local Andalusian tapas, a post office, a chemist, a medical centre, a bank and the village church. The small mountain village of La Vinuela is famous for its proximity to the lake, rural walks and many colourful and vibrant local fiestas. It is in an ideal location for exploring the Axarquia region in southern Spain. We recommend renting a car during your visit so you can see all the sights. Lake Vinuela with its lush vegetation and abundance of wildlife is about 1.5 km away. Only a five minute drive away you will find a large Olympic size swimming pool at Hotel Vinuela where you are welcome to laze away the day or treat yourself to a meal in the hotel restaurant. The local 18 hole golf course is only fifteen minutes' drive away. If you want to spend a day on the beach you can take the local bus from La Vinuela that runs daily into Torre del Mar (20 minutes away). The nearest entrance to the Sierra Tejedes nature reserve with its wonderful variety of scenery, wildlife and wildflowers is about 5km away from the house. Gibralter,Granada, Seville and Cordoba are all close enough for a day trip.

“Fabulous place with fabulous hosts.”

Reviewed 11 Oct 2015

The house was lovely, very traditional in a traditional village but with everything the modern travellor needs (except perhaps wi-fi but this is available in the village). The house was spotless and very compfortable. The roof terrace was a real sun-trap but also a great place to cool off with a drink in the evening while enjoying the stunning scenery and village life. The village is well placed for walking to the lake and the surrounding countryside - but be prepared for hills! We had all we needed with two supermarkets, a butcher, pharmacy and other shops. The two restaurants were both very good and there were also three bars which all served food - Miguel's tapas were especially good. Bob & Jan were great hosts - very informative and helpful and they made our stay special. Bob did a 'meet & greet' for us to and from the airport which made everything very easy - he even stopped at a large supermarket on the way so we could stock up on arrival.

Hi both, Thanks for lovely review. It was great to meet you both.Hope to see you again soon. Maybe in "bonnie" Scotland!! All the best Bob and Jan.

“Top notch Holiday Rental.”

Reviewed 7 Sep 2014

From the moment we arrived, Bob could not have been more helpful from showing us where the local supermarket was to advising us on local restaurants and bars. A very well equipped house even down to picnic chairs, brolly, towels etc. for the beach. A slight caveat would be advising any people with disabilities that the upper stairs to the rooftop balcony are very steep. I have to say that us sprightly 70+ year olds had little problem. Would love to return in the future and I'm sure we will.

Thanks George and Tricia for your excellent review, would love to see you both again, glad you had an very enjoyable time in our house. Cheers Bob & Jan

“An idyllic place to stay, long to return, thank you”

Reviewed 20 Jan 2014

A fabulous property, spotless and everything we needed for our stay. An excellent welcome from the owners who couldn't have done more for us. Idyllic landscape, lovely walks, excellent restaurants and tapas bars. Local shops and parks. In the heart of the village but nice and quiet. Can't wait to return this year.

Glad you both enjoyed your stay, hopefully see you both again soon. Bob

“Another Little Gem”

Reviewed 12 Dec 2013

If you want to be away from the Spanish beaches and the main tourist areas to enjoy your own holiday in a less frantic atmosphere, this town house in Vinuela might just be what you are looking for. It provides great accommodation right in the centre of the thriving village with a cafe opposite and a restaurant almost next door. If you can time your visit to coincide with a Festival in the village as we did you are ideally situated and will enjoy great Spanish hospitality - even if you can't speak the language. If you need to visit the tourist areas then these are relatively close and easy to get to but you will need transport and there are lots of facilities, amenities, and other attractions nearby well worth visiting. The house itself was very well equipped and spotlessly clean and very well maintained. The Landlords were very welcoming and very keen that we had every opportunity to enjoy ourselves without any intrusion and yet if we needed anything (which we didn't) they would be on hand to assist immediately. Lastly the sun shone, the beer was cold and the price was right ! (for both the beer and house rental)

Glad you enjoyed your time here.Hope to see you both again soon.

“Highly recommended”
