The flat is newly refurbished and very well appointed. Chessels Court is the only grassed court on the Royal Mileand is sometimes the venue for Festival events. The location is perfect for sightseeing, Festival or business stays. It is within easy walking distance of the Castle, Holyrood Palace, Discovery Dome, the Parliament Building and Business Centre - to list but a few of the attractions!

There is a wide variety of restaurants, cafes and pubs on the Royal Mile and discounts have been arranged with some of the best of these for our guests. The flat is on the quieter end of the Mile, so when you want to escape the bustle of the town you are only a short walk away.

Museums and Art Galleries are many and easily reached as well as Princes St. Gardens and shops. We are only 5 minutes from the Railway Station and 20 minutes from Airport.

This is a family let and we will do our very best to ensure you have a comfortable and enjoyable stay!!

There is ample storage in the hallway and both bedrooms have large integral wardrobes and drawer chests. The double room has two windows with lovely view of the Court gardens. There is ample space in this room for a cot(if requested).

The twin room also has two windows overlooking the Royal Mile. Kitchen is fully equipped. Bathroom has bath, shower and wash stand.

Large lounge has dining area with dresser and extendible table to comfortably seat six. Bay window overlooks Court.

Edinburgh is Capital City of Scotland, famous for its festival which is world renowned. Many of Scotland's most beautiful and historic sites are accessible even out with the city e.g Stirling Castle, a short train ride to Glasgow with its many attractions and university.

The Lothians also offer many lovely rural villages and walks with golf, fishing, horse-riding , and an artificial ski slope and hill-walking.

Royal Mile

The Royal Mile is home to many oft he city's most visited attractions. It also houses many of the venues for Festival events.

There are many places to eat from top-class restaurants to traditional coffee houses.

The Mile is easily reached road rail or plane. It allows access to most of the city's attractions without the need for a car.

“A true gem”

We spent two nights here to celebrate a family birthday. We were welcomed at the flat by the owner, Moira, with a bottle of wine and some sweets on the table, and she showeed us around the flat, explained what was necessary and answered our questions. The flat is very comfortable, and easy to heat in winter. The location is ideal, really no need to wait for a taxi at Waverley station, you walk for only some 5-6 minutes.

“Perfect location”

This was a roomy and comfortable apartment in an ideal spot on the Royal Mile - everything we wanted to do was within walking distance. It was clean and well appointed and the window seat in the living room looked out over the gardens, perfect for sipping a morning cup of coffee. Great Turkish Cafe opposite. Recommend Gordon's Trattoria for authentic Italian food and Wedgwoods for delicious and innovative coking - it's hard to get a table in the evenings but their set price lunch is good value.

“Excellent Location but Needs a lot of updating”

Good Points - Excellent location all attractions within walking distance. Both bedrooms have adequate storage space and beds are comfortable. Bad Points - The bathroom is in serious need of updatiing.. The plug in the bath was full of hair and the tiles certainly looked like they needed regrouting / scrubbing. The bath sealant also looked like it could do with replacing. The shower has a very poor water pressure which needs looking at. We are not snobs by any means but I think everybody likes to have a clean bathroom. Underneath the window on the floor also looked like it could use new grouting or a good scrub. The Bathroom door does not have a lock on it and has a net curtain up for privacy through the glass panels. In the living roon there are only enough easy chairs for 3 people. We were a party of 4 and 1 had to sit on a dining chair. After a days walking up and down the Royal mile we all needed to sit in comfy chairs. The kitchen is also looking tired with door locks hanging off and a massive crack in the ceiling. We managed to get the internet after contacting Moira but sadly after 1 day it said that there was no data left so we ended up buying a BT 5 day hot spot pass. Having paid £1100.00 for a weeks stay I would have expected the condition of the apartment to be in a far better state than it was. Moira was very helpful and answered our texts within a couple of days.

Owner's reply: Very surprised by review especially since guests expressed such delight when shown round. 1. Bathroom recently refurbished, shower can be regulated from gentle to very strong and plug had just been cleared by plumber after blocked by previous guest. 2. There are no locks in kitchen and ceiling crack caused by neighbour's overflow is being replastered. 3. There is an armchair and settee which seats three in sitting room and another armchair in a bedroom. 4 data was updated on day these guests arrived and since we have maximum amount each month we have never run out. When I made nquiries to the server, I was informed that several films had been downloaded by these guests as well as other use and they had effectively used a full months allocation in two days! Nevertheless less I am sorry that Pat was not entirely pleased. I always take care to make sure my guests enjoy their stay as can be seen from all my other reviews.

“Great Apartment”

I stayed at Chessels Court Apartment for 3 nights with my friend, my sister and mum. The location is absolutely fantastic! Right on the royal mile, but the quieter end so not too busy. The beds are comfortable and the place was very clean. Lots of little extras to make the place feel homely. Moira was very friendly and helpful. I'd love to come back and stay some other time.

Great location - walking distance to so many sights - the Castle was just up the road! The apartment was spacious, clean, well equipped and the beds were comfortable. Moira was excellent to deal with and very welcoming.

We spent 4 nights in the flat - my husband and myself, our 18 year old daughter and a friend and our 21 year old son (who slept on the sofa-bed in the lounge). The size of the flat was fine given the short duration of our stay and that we were out a lot of the time. The location was perfect; withn easy reach on foot to many of the Fringe venues and lots of cafes and restaurants and a local small supermarket. No point bringing your car to Edinburgh. We left our car at one of the Park & Rides and came in by bus. Moira, the owner, was very welcoming and helfpul. The ony thing that did not work so well was the Wireless Wifi which was unreliable and seemed to work better on our daughter's i-pod than on the laptop! All together a cosy and perfectly convenient place to stay.
