If a more leisurely holiday is what you seek then La Magnanièro provides the perfect haven for rest and relaxation; soak up the sun with a good book in the front courtyard and enjoy long leisurely lunches and starlit dinners on the patio.

Further details

La Magnanièro is an old property with a winding, tiled staircase and low window ledges. Children must be supervised at all times. We do not have a stair-gate as it would be impossible to fit one on the old wrought iron bannister and so the property is not ideally suited for families with toddlers because of this.

Please note that we do have wifi however as we are in a rural location the internet speed is not very fast.

•Second single bedroom with antique single bed looking South at the front of the house.
•King bedroom also looking South at the front of the house.
We can provide a cot if needed. The sofa in the Salon converts into a comfortable double sofa-bed. Throughout the house are the original tiled floors which help maintain a cool interior in the heat of the summer. The top floor is not included in the rental of this property. The top floor may be accessed up the stairs but the rooms will all be locked

Further details outdoors

Outside there is a large fenced, gravelled courtyard providing a safe place for children to play, and a quiet spot for sunbathing or for relaxing with a good book. We provide 2 sun loungers and parasol and a charcoal barbeque, table and chairs for long Provencal lunches and dinners under the stars. An additional feature is the original well in the corner of the garden - this has a locked door for safety. Whilst the property does not have its own pool we are a short, easy drive (around 8-10 minutes) from the great outdoor pool at St Saturnin - a favourite place for our two children.

Being in the centre of the hameau there is very little traffic and so it is usually very peaceful. Our neighbours are locals and so there will be the usual comings and goings and the sound of tractors being driven to the vineyards on occasion. In addition, we would ask that guests respect the peacful surroundiings and keep noise to a minimum later in the evening so as not to disturb our neighbours. The property managers (our parents) are English and live next door and will be happy to assist with enquiries.

Roussillon

The property is situated in a the middle of a small hamlet in the Luberon Natural Park. The hamlet is a quiet residential area with no facilities other than a post box , but the cafes and shops of Roussillon are a short 8 minute drive as is the pretty village of St Saturnin. In the summer a roadside market stall selling delicious and reasonably priced fresh fruit, vegetables and bread (get there early or order in advance), can be found a short drive or bike ride along the D2.

The nearest large town is the old market town of Apt, the centre of crystallised fruit production.

Weekly village markets are held in Roussillon, Gordes, St Saturnin and Coustellet. The largest market in the region is held every Saturday morning in Apt.

There are many excellent restaurants near by including restuarant David in Roussillon, La Petite Ecole in le Chene and Auberge de Carcarille on the D2.

The nearest open air swimming pool is the lovely pool in St Saturnin, open daily.

The coast is about an hour and half drive away; Marseille, Cassis, Carry le Rouet amongst many other lovely coastal spots. Aqualand water park is a day trip drive of around an hour and a half each way, between Marseille andToulon.
