Description

The Space is a self-contained, eco-friendly, multi-media facility for musicians and other creative artists. It will appeal to those who wish to develop and realise their artistic project in a beautiful and secluded setting. It can also be used by other groups and individuals, or by family groups and friends who seek a holiday with a difference.

The Space houses a magnificent semi-concert grand piano in the main church hall, a separate glass-fronted multi-track recording studio control room with full mastering facilities, and it was officially opened by singing legend, Barbara Dickson in April 2015.

The Space can also be booked without the recording studio and as such offers high quality and individual accommodation on the mysterious, historically rich island of Rousay, one of the northern Orkney isles. With 4 double bedrooms, a large kitchen/diner with 2 sofas, dining table and 6 chairs, electric cooker and hob, microwave, washing machine, dishwasher, fridgefreezer. Large church hall with quirky snug created from a 1960's first class train compartment, and many more unique features.

The Space boasts full disabled facilities including a double bedroom with easy access to a fully equipped disabled toilet and wet room. 3 other double bedrooms all with en suite bathrooms. Underfloor heating partially powered by ecofriendly solar panels keep you cosy throughout the year, and there are heaters in all bedrooms.

The property is situated in a natural wildflower garden of one acre and has its own rocky beach. There are 2 kayaks for use by guests with buoyancy aids provided. The Space has a large parking area which can accommodate several cars.

Why can't I call Graham (the owner) before booking?

How do damage deposits work?

In most cases, you don’t pay a damage deposit up front. Instead, we save your payment details securely and you’re only charged in the event of damage to the property.

Occasionally, you will pay a damage deposit up front as part of the total rental cost. In this case, the owner has 10 days after you check out to report any damage. If they don’t, we’ll return your deposit. If their claim is successful, we’ll deduct the agreed cost and return the remainder.

How can I retract my booking request?

You’ll need to contact Graham (the owner) to do this. Send them a message in Manage your holiday booking or through the contact form on this page.

How do I cancel my booking?

Go to Manage your holiday booking to cancel your booking. Here you can view your cancellation policy to see if you’ll be refunded.

How do I edit my booking?

You can request to change the dates or number of people on your booking via the Manage your holiday booking page. To change your holiday dates use the Edit booking button. If you need to change the number of guests staying then send Graham (the owner) a message.

If Graham (the owner) agrees, they’ll send you a revised quote outlining the changes. You can review and accept/decline this from the Manage your holiday booking page. You’ll have 48 hours to take action before the revised quote expires.
