The Haute-Normandie region

Rouen is on the river Seine and is considered a seaport with a well developed commercial harbor. Very good maritime museum. The small villages of Normandie and the Abbeyes in the area are worth renting a car to visit as well as several historical Chateau and their grounds. Architectural sites and buildings abound. Many hiking trails and natural habitat areas in the forests that surround Rouen. Open air markets are plentiful. Antique hunting and flea markets popular.

“Bohemian Apt. in a Perfect Location!”

Reviewed 26 Sep 2013

Located just steps from Rouen's main square and cathedral, this cozy apartment couldn't be better located for exploring Rouen on foot. Nearby museums specialize in art, iron working and faience. The Joan of Arc Church, the Gros Horloge, and Town Hall are also walkable and well worth a visit. The nearby TI office is most helpful and has free wifi for visitors. Groceries are easily had from the local Monoprix and nearby farmer's markets. Restaurants are plentiful and really good!.
