The Aviemore and the Cairngorms region
The Cairngorms National Park encompasses mountains and valley and within this, many different villages. The people who live and work in them are as interesting as the wildlife and scenery in making the Cairngorms National Park what it is. Nestled in the straths and glens, tucked away in the forests or straddling busy thoroughfares, the towns and villages each have their own character and identity.
Vibrant and connected, relaxed and secluded, authentic and traditional, five star and fancy - exploring the communities is as much fun as discovering the mountains. When you come to explore the National Park and want to find out more about this amazing place, call into one of the many visitor centres, tourist information centres or ranger bases throughout the Aviemore, Angus Glens, Royal Deeside, Donside, Glenlivet, Highland Perthshire and Strathspey areas.
Aviemore is an excellent base for exploring the Cairgorms National Park and the wider are of Badenoch and Strathspey or you can stay local and enjoy the lochs and forests and hills of Glenmore, Rothiemurchus and Alvie Estates. Special attractions are the whisky distilleries of Speyside, the many spectacular castles, and the Highland Wildlfe Park close by.
Aviemore itself offers shopping facilities for the outdoor enthusiast together with a great range of local retailers offering gifts, crafts, restaurants, pubs and cafes.
Closeby at the Rothiemurchus visitor centre, you will find tourist information, the excellent Aviemore Gallery and coffee shop, Ski Road Sports for winter equipment sales, hire and instruction, both a Scottish and an Indian restaurant, plus the Estate shop and booking office for all sorts of outdoor activities. All on your own doorstep. Whether you wish to relax, admire the scenery, walk or bike, swing through the trees or paddle down a river, this is the place for you!

"A hidden gem"
We have been coming up to Coylumbridge every two years for about the last 30 years as we have a time share there. Over this time the family has grown and this year we needed more space - hence booking Riverside Lodge. It looked very inviting on the web site and we were not disappointed. It was excellent. Rooms and en-suites were well appointed, lounge area was very comfortable and well thought out. My daughter was a little concerned that the owners controlled the central heating as she has a two year old and the weather was very cold but she need not have worried as the lodge was lovely and warm throughout our stay. Owners were very helpful, even to the extent of lending us a pie dish when my son decided to demonstrate his culinary skills one night. Cannot fault it. We will definitely book again on our next visit which will be in two years time and my sister in law is already considering it for next year when it is her turn. Would definitely recommend.

"Wonderful house in a stunning setting with a great atmosphere in surrounding areas"
We stayed for 4 nights and had a fantastic stay. We were delighted that the owners were happy for us to bring along our puppy too, so our holiday was made Up mainly of walking and cycling. There are lots of beautiful walks to go on and the cycle routes were of fantastic quality!!!! The lodge itself was beaufully presented and had everything you could possibly need :-)

Good (and clean) accommodation, Location was quiet, great for dog walking but not far from Bridge Inn and Italian restaurants which I would also recommend
