Description from owner

Description

Charming well-appointed self -contained studio chalet set in 6 acres of Herefordshire woodland within easy reach of Ross-on-Wye, the Forest of Dean and the River Wye. This is a great location for walkers and nature lovers and people who are looking for a quiet rural retreat in beautiful countryside. If you'd like a hideaway that feels remote but is actually quite close to civilisation then this could be just what you're looking for! An extra camp bed can be added to accommodate a child or third adult for an extra small charge (please enquire). Nuthatch is at the same address as our Woodpecker Annexe and thus offers the option of a double booking for 2 couples. Please be aware that access to the chalet is via an unmade rural track. It's not a problem to drive on (we do it all the time) but don't expect to drive up it very fast!

Location description from owner

The England region

Howle Hill is a quiet wooded hillside community within 3 miles of the amenities of Ross-on-Wye and the River Wye. It provides easy access to the Forest of Dean with all its cycle trails and forest activities and to other towns such as Monmouth along with the cities of Hereford and Gloucester. The Abergavenny Food Festival is popular for a day visit in August and there are numerous other festivals throughout the season, such as the Hay on Wye Book Festival. Woodland walks abound in the local area including The Wye Valley Walk which passes close to our own land at Tree Tops.

“Beautiful, peaceful retreat”

Reviewed 6 Jan 2016

Beautiful, peaceful and very relaxing stay. Lovely location - not far from Ross-on-Wye which is the nearest town Marion & Simon where very helpful and informative, Will defiantly be staying again in the new year. Lovely retreat

Glad you enjoyed your stay in our chalet - looking forward to your return visit!

“Idyllic retreat.”

Reviewed 5 Jun 2015

Comfortable accommodation in a lovely location. Ideal for exploring Wye Valley and Forest of Dean. Our second visit proved to be as enjoyable as the first. Woodland immediately behind chalet is ideal for dog owners. Simon and Marion are lovely hosts, full of information on wildlife and places of interest within the locality. Would highly recommend Nuthatch - we will certainly be returning next year!
