Location description from owner
The Scotland region
Rosneath Peninsula is peaceful and very relaxing allowing you to escape from the hustle and bustle of modern life. Lying between the Gare Loch and Loch Long in Argyll and Bute on the north shore of the Firth of Clyde the peninsula is made up of gentle and rolling hills with the communities of Cove, Kilcreggan, Rosneath, Clynder and Garelochhead nestling at their foot. Linked by good roads, rail and ferry services visitors can quickly reach Loch Lomond and the National Park and the surrounding towns of Helensburgh, Greenock, Gourock, Dunoon and the vibrant city of Glasgow. Travelling around the Peninsula offers stunning vistas around almost every corner.
The Rosneath Peninsula occupies a commanding situation on the banks of the world-famous River Clyde, just on the boundary between the Highlands and Lowlands of Scotland. Loch Lomond, Stirling and the Trossachs, and the Western Highlands are also within easy reach. The A817 Haul Road taking vistors to Loch Lomond from the peninsula has been voted one of the most beautiful road journeys in the UK! Some eight miles in length, the peninsula is bounded on one side by the sheltered waters of the Gareloch and on the other by the fjord-like Loch Long, which reaches deeply into the hills and mountains known as the 'Arrochar Alps' and 'Argyle's Bowling Green'. The main part of the peninsula is a continuous ridge, which, from the shores of the Gare Loch and Loch Long, and the Firth of Clyde, rises to 717 feet at Tamnahara or Cnoc na h-Airidhe, 645 to the E of Peaton, 651 at Clach Mackenny, and 414 at the Gallowhill. Scotland's west coast and its Gulf-Stream-generated mild and wet weather provides a fertile environment for a vast variety of plants, including exotic and rare species from Asia and other places. Because of this, a number of interesting and notable gardens have been developed and are open to the public. The Linn Gardens at Cove are open all year round. Kilarden at Rosneath and Woodburn at Garelochhead alongside other beautiful private gardens in the area are sometimes open as part of Scotland's Gardens Scheme. A trip on the passenger ferry between Kilcreggan and Gourock gives uninterrupted views of the Firth of Clyde and its backdrop of hills, lochs and islands.

“Excellent accommodation, wonderful place to stay”
This was our second stay at this lovely accommodation while we spent a week sailing in the area. The small house is very spacious for a couple and has everything you could possibly need including wi-fi and a bathroom which is also a wetroom with a separate shower. It was spotlessly clean when we arrived. The accommodation is separate from the owners' house and has its own car parking space and entrance. The owners' garage is situated below the accommodation which raises the house and means that there are wonderful sea views from the bedroom. The owners, June and Geoff are very friendly and helpful and clearly want you to enjoy your holiday, but they don't intrude in your space.
Thank you very much for your kind review! We are so glad that you have enjoyed your hoildays in this wonderful sailing area and in An Caladh, we hope to welcome you again in the future!
