Further details

This venue is best suited for those seeking a rustic retreat in an unspoilt environment .The only access to Earthsky is by foot. It is fairly steep and somewhat rough.Parking is in the village, 100 metres down the hill, but I have a motorized wheel-barrow and will help you with your luggage ! Earthsky sits on rugged terrain. There are stone floors and stone stair-cases in the garden.Hence you will need to be sure-footed and wear very comfortable shoes.

Further details outdoors

The cottage has it's own garden which is quite private. However, if there are guests in my other cottage, which also has it's own terraces, they will pass through to access their accommodation, and I come in to water the plants from time to time.If you are disappointed to find that Earthsky2 is already booked for the dates you require,or if you require extra accommodation for friends or family,it may interest you to consult Holiday Lettings, re. 4315650 for details of my other cottage, Earthsky3.

“Rural retreat to die for with breathtaking views”

Reviewed 30 Oct 2011

Our holiday at Earthsky was truly magical. A perfect location to experience the rustic French countryside, we found the cottage to be exceptionally peaceful and inspiring. The local scenery is breathtaking, and the view from the terrace along the wooded valley is stunning. We loved being able to eat and relax outside and couldn't get enough of the view. We are keen walkers and cyclists and loved exploring the local area. There are many footpaths and the quiet roads are ideal for bikes (if you’re willing to tackle a few hills!) Sally went out of her way to provide us with bikes and maps of the local area. The cottage is comfy and equipped with everything you need. Don’t expect a featureless modern finish, the 300 year old cottage is homely and rustic, and testament to Sally’s great taste and hard work. We spent most of our time outside on the terrace, but the living room was definitely a highlight with its flagstone floor and woodburning stove, perfect for relaxing after the sun went down. There is an abundance of space, although whilst the cottage would comfortably sleep four, the open plan layout would require you to be good friends. Sally was a welcoming and knowledgeable host. We appreciated having her next door, and enjoyed a few bottles of wine together. However, she was always respectful of our privacy. In summary this is the perfect destination for those wanting a rural retreat and to get a real taste of peaceful French village life.

Thank you guys ! That's a lovely reference ... :~) ... I trust all is well with you and look forward to meeting you again somewhere along the line .........

“the perfect holiday!”

Reviewed 29 Oct 2011

We (a young couple from Germany) were searching for a nice place to spend our summer holiday. We wanted something different, not the same old hotel room or apartment complex you can find in any other city. And then we found earthsky! Our first thought: “is this for real?” A romantic little cottage for such a reasonable price? We contacted the owner, Sally, (who responded quickly via e-mail) and booked the place for eight nights. All our expectations where highly fulfilled when we got there – the cottage was beautiful and homey, and equipped with everything you need. And the view from the terrace was wonderful! Located in a small village at the heart of Longuedoc-Roussilion, earthsky was the perfect place for us to relax, read, taking trips to the beach (Narbonne-Plage/ Valras-Plage) or lovely farmers markets in the area – short: a perfect holiday!

I am really happy that you enjoyed Earthsky so much ... :~) ... It was delightful to get to know you and I wish you both only the very best for the future .........

“Rustic French Charm”

Reviewed 24 Oct 2011

We had a wonderful time at Earthsky! The location was beautiful and peaceful, nestling at the top of a wooded valley. Sally is a great host and also a font of knowledge about the area and she even invited us to a friendly get-together and dinner with her friends. The accommodation was comfortable and full of rustic charm. If you want to experience the authentic Languedoc, this is a perfect base to explore from.

“Amazing views, beautifully rustic cottage - so peaceful”

Reviewed 24 Oct 2011

My husband and I stayed at Earthsky in mid-September and are still wishing that we were back there now! The lovely stone cottage has a rustic charm and had absolutely everything we needed - thanks to the owner Sally's thoughtfulness. Views from the terrace are even better than advertised and we relished every evening sat in the peaceful quiet, drinking the wonderful local red wine and enjoying the mountain views. The area is lovely, with beautiful mountains, gorges, rivers, lakes, and charming old villages, but also less than an hour's drive to Mediterranean beaches. Sally was a great hostess. The walk up the hill from the car park kept us fit too! We would recommend Earthsky wholeheartedly, particularly for couples wanting a relaxing getaway. We hope to come again one day.
