If you don't like walking, you can also experience an unlimited range of tram and bus. You reach the Vatican City and its known museums just with a few Bus Stops. You can get into the deepness of Trastevere with just 2 Tram Stops. Metro (Red Line) is close-by too: with only 5mins walk by the apartment, you can catch a Metro to Central Station (Termini) and so both the Airports (Ciampino and Fiumicino). As an additional advantage, the surrounding area (Cavour) offers also a dedicated bus line that goes no-stop straight to Fiumicino Airport.

Finally, despite its fashionable and well-known position, La Fontanella has a friendly and helpful residential neighborhood too. Main Banks, Post Offices or General Stores are all a few steps away, together with typical Restaurants, Shops and Bars. The famous Gelateria Giolitti and San Crispino, hand-made ice-cream's shops are just an example. Campo de' Fiori, with its typical Grocery Market, or Piazza Navona, with its wonderful bars, complete the picture.

La FONTANELLA is certainly well-served, in the immediate surroundings there are several banks, convenient stores and a post office.

“Great location with Roma ambience”

Reviewed 29 Mar 2014

We were greeted with a very friendly welcome and maps of Roma. Upon opening the large windows, we were pleased to find a quiet, side street, which proved a perfect place to people watch. Trevi Fountain is an easy 10 min walk. Spagna metro station was very close with a pleasant walk down Via Della Croce, where you will find Grano Frutta e Farina cafe with its amazingly friendly staff and great selection of breakfast and lunch foods. If you are looking for picnic supplies, just down a few blocks is Salumeria Focacci, a great stop for everything you might need for a day-trip to Ostia Antica or for a pasta dinner. The Pantheon is a pleasant 8-10 minutes walk south. There is a very convenient taxi stand near Via Tomacelli and Via del Corso for trips further afield. The Colosseo, quickly reached by taxi for around 10 Euro, was an easy walk of about 30 minutes. The apartment was well equipped and spacious. Being a family of 4, we were happy with the room set-up, which is essentially one room separated by a wall and curtain. The double bed is a bit droopy, but for a short stay (we were there 5 nights) was adequate. The kids were on a fold-out couch, which was comfortable. There were plenty of linens and towels provided. We were very pleased with our stay and happy with the apartment and the excellent customer service.

“In the center”

Reviewed 17 Nov 2013

We went 4 persons (2 couples) for a 5 days city break in Rome. First impression was very good, Francesca was very nice, showed us a bit of the surroundings of our appartment. Also, she gave us a map of Rome, which helped a lot during our vacation. The internet connection used a SIM card from Vodafone, which you can put in a smartphone, and use the data connection all over Rome (I also had a dual sim phone, so both voice - with my own SIM - and data - with the one from the appartment - for me). As for the location, the appartment is very quiet, central located, on an exclusive street of Rome (from the appartment to Spagna ~5 min - only exclusive stores - Valentino, Gucci, Armani and so on). The appartment is 5 minutes away from Fontana di Trevi or the Pantheon, so a very good location to visit Rome by foot. Also a marketplace is 1 minute away, down the street. The only reason I don't give it 5 stars (price/quality) is the fact that the 2 rooms are not really sepparated. There is a gypsum wall, with an arcade and no door between the 2 rooms, so there is no privacy, if you book it for 4 persons (2 couples), like in our case.
