“An excellent base for exploring Rome”

Reviewed 4 Nov 2013

We stayed here 2 adults and two children for a weekend visit. The apartment has an excellent location, approx 300yards from the Colleseum. You can see it from the front door. Its really easy to get to from the underground station, just take the stairs to the upper level exit. The apartment has basic yet comfortable furnishing, one bedroom with double bed, a kitchen with basic utensils, well presented bathroom and living area with an additional double bed. There is a TV with mainly Italian channels. The apartment is located on the top floor easily accessible via a lft or staircase. Booking was easy and was met upon arrival at the apartment. I recommend moving away from the colleseum area to sample the many restaurants in the area as they seem to be cheaper. This is a great location to explore and take in the Roman experience. The major sights are easily reached. I recommend taking the sight seeing double decker bus because it will take close to the attractions and you simply hop on or off at the various stops along the way. You can catch one behind the Colleseum. We had a great stay in Rome and definately return to this apartment.

“Perfect Location”

Reviewed 4 Nov 2013

As you step outside the building and glance to your left, the Colosseum rises in all its glory. The apartment's location couldn't be better, steps away from the subway and within walking distance of some of Rome's most famous treasures. It is located in the neighborhood of Monti where Julius Cesar was born. Ancient Rome's most populous neighborhood, its still a vibrant community filled with trendy places to eat and shop. You can find everything you need within blocks of home. The apartment is well kept and quiet. The owner is very responsive and helpful. We were 2 couples in this one bedroom apartment. The second couple slept in half of the very large dining room which would have been more private with a curtain or standing screen, but we managed well enough. We saved a lot of money cooking for ourselves and really felt like locals for the 2 weeks we spent in Rome. We will always think fondly of Martina al Colosseo.

“What a view”

Reviewed 3 Nov 2013

This was the second time the family has stayed here. The apartment is basic but has everything that one needs. The host was very helpful. The main thing about this apartment is the location. It is on a small side street with the actual Coliseum at the bottom of the road! There is a metro nearby which makes travelling around very easy.

“Perfect Location”

Out of all the places we stayed over three weeks in Italy our kids vote this property number one. We stayed at some 6 star places but the kids loved this location and the simplicity of this rental. The kitchen could have had a scrub but the rate was so reasonable I didn't mind washing out the drawers and washing up what we used before use. A little bit more care of the cleaner would fix this in a flash. It was a very very quiet location and perfect for the metro minutes away. Loved it. Better than a hotel and far more reasonable for 4 adult size people.
