Location description from owner

The Lazio region

Rome is the capital city of the ancient world. So you can find a lot of surprising and terrific sites (as Tivoli and Ostia Antica) to visit also in the hinterland and in all over the region. Similarly the history and the art kept to go ahead and you can find testimonials of every historic period, from Etruscan to nowadays. But there are also other reasons to visit our region: climate, nature, food, wine, and fun!. In fact it is almost never too cold, or too hot, and our region has both sea (summertime)and mountain (wintertime). There are some lakes too (as Bracciano), and a lot of other places with fabulous landscapes. There are natural reserves (WWF), and botanical gardens as Ninfa. Not to tell about food and wine, delicious to buy and cook yourself or to taste in the restaurants, with italian wonderful wine. Last but not least, fun. There is always something to do in our region, festivals, civil and religious representations, events to promote local products.

Rome

We are close to St. Peter, the centre of Catholicism. But even if you are not catholic you can appreciate the history, and the art of our site. You'll see where and how the pope was taking refuge in case of danger (Castel S. Angelo), but also all the magnificence of his power (Sistine Chapel). And you'll find ancient Rome in any corner of our modern one, (Castel S. Angelo itself was the Emperor Hadrian's grave). But there are also other reasons to visit our region: climate, In fact it is almost never too cold, or too hot, and Roman people go out every day, and every night through all the year. You can also enjoy fabulous landscapes in the hearth of Rome (Gianicolo, not far from us) and its famous parks as Villa Borghese (Pincio Terrace), or Villa Pamphili, near our location). Not to tell about food and wine, delicious to buy and cook yourself or to taste in the restaurants, with Italian wonderful wine. Last but not least, fun. There is always something to do in Rome, (Festival del Cinema on October, for example) and theatre, music, and events in every corner of the city.

“Ideal location, all the amenities, friendly helpful host”

Reviewed 27 Oct 2015

I travelled with my wife, daughter, son in law, and 9 month old grandson. Giovanna provided us with a baby playpen/crib and highchair for our grandson. The apartment was exceptionally clean with all the amenities, and the beds were very comfortable. The neighbourhood had grocery stores, cafe's, restaurants, movie theatre, bars, and pastry shops near by. You are in walking distance (8 minutes) from the train station and the Vatican. Giovanna provided us with info about travel within Rome and was very easy to contact if we needed anything. I would definitely recommend this apartment and would stay there again.

“Confortable et bien situé”

Reviewed 19 Oct 2015

“Home from home, very welcoming, well looked after, very gracious hostess”

Reviewed 21 Apr 2015

This apartment provided the perfect base for our family trip to Rome. A large, spacious, yet very relaxed home from home style apartment. It had everything we could need just as if we were at home. Very well kept, very clean, and spotless. So close to the Vatican, just down the street. Bakery two doors away, large supermarket a few yards up the street, small shops close by. Lovely restaurants within a few yards. Everything you could need or want and our hostess was very hospitable. Cannot recommend this highly enough and cannot wait to return. Would have no hesitation in recommending this apartment to any family or friend intending to visit Rome.

“Close to St. Peter's Basilica”

Reviewed 1 Nov 2013

We stayed in Giovanna's flat during our 6 day vacation in Rome. It is a nice, large apartment located very close to St. Peter's Basilica. There is a bakery a few steps away and a supermarket near by. The flat is well equipped. We found all the things we needed, and everything worked. Giovanna was very helpful during our stay, and she answered our emails quickly while we arranged the trip. I can definitely recommend the place.

“Spacious appartment on a good location in Rome”

Reviewed 24 Oct 2013

Location is perfect for a visit to Rome. Walking distance to Vatican city is only 5 minutes. Supermarket, bakery, coffee corner, restaurants: everything is closeby. Bus stop 1 minute walk, that takes you in the old city centre. Clean appartement with enough space. Only we had a little problem with the noise of the people in the building and the noise from outside. But this is because we live in a very quiet place, and now you are staying in the middle of a big city.
