The Lazio region

Situated in the very heart of Rome you’re in perfect position to do most of the sightseeing by foot: just around the corner you find Piazza Navona with Bernini's masterpiece - The Fountain of the Four Rivers - and be surrounded by beautiful terracotta buildings among which is Borromini's Church St. Agnese.

Rome

If you continue your stroll for a couple of minutes, you will find yourself at the Pantheon – ‘The Temple of the Gods’.

From here you are ideally positioned to continue on to Piazza di Spagna and Via Condotti where you can purchase luxury goods from the best Italian designer stores

and boutiques.

Also next to your apartment, you find Campo de’ Fiori, Rome’s most famous fresh fruit and veg market. In addition to this the piazza also boasts many excellent traditional, Roman restaurants, offering charming, ‘al-fresco’ dining, as well as numerous bars, pubs and gelaterias for those who wish to just ‘sink’ into the atmosphere. Next to Campo de’ Fiori lies Piazza Farnese which is dominated by the magnificent Palazzo Farnese – today home of the French Embassy.

Proceeding from here into the picturesque alleyway, Via Giulia, you can then cross over the river Tiber and find yourself in Trastevere: Rome's bohemian ‘hot-spot’ for pubs, trattorias, pizzerias, galleries, and boutiques.

Saint Peter’s is only a 15 minute walk from your door. It is here you can visit one of the world's most famous and spectacular museums: The Vatican Museum with Michelangelo's Frescos in the Sistine Chapel.

You can take either buses at the bus stop 2 minutes from your door or walk in 15 minutes to the antique part of Rome: the Colosseum where gladiators fought for their lives, the Circus Maximus where the chariot racings took place, the breathtaking Forum Romanum or the awe-inspiring Palatine Hill – said to be the birthplace of the Eternal City and later residence of several Roman emperors.

“MUSEUM QUALITY”

Reviewed 13 Oct 2016

During September 2016, I stayed in the Gulia Navona for three weeks. Transportation from the airport was perfect and the check in with Giorgio was easy. After I checked in, Giorgio briefed me on the area and accompanied me to the Espresso WIFI Boutique to pick up my portable WIFI Hotspot. The owner's representatives, Dorotea and Giorgio were perfect hosts and were attentive to meet my needs. In fact, they arranged for me to meet with an Italian teacher, Giovanna, on several occasions which was fantastic. The apartment is in a great location and walking distance to many restaurants, museums and historic sites. The apartment is best described as artful and beautiful with antique furniture and 20 feet high fresco painted ceilings. I felt like I was living in a museum. It is apparent that the apartment shows pride of ownership. I believe that the apartment would be perfect for 2 people, although it is equipped for up to 4 guests. I did notice scratches on the beautiful parquet floors caused by movement of furniture by prior guests. I was fortunate to meet lovely family members of the owner who live in the building. The apartment is in an historic building which is very quiet, safe and secure. The doorman, Giordano, is a great guy who is very proud of the building. He is very attentive to the guests and residents of the building. I highly recommend Guilia Navona for your stay in Italy. For those guests who do not speak Italian, I recommend that you schedule a class with Giovanna. It will make your trip more fulfilling in experiencing the culture of Italy.
