there are plenty of great places to sample rome's world famous cuisine in the esquilino/monti distric, just 5 minutes' walk away. there is a local market with great fresh produce on sale just 2 minutes' walk from the apartment. roma termini, one of the city's main transport hubs, is right 10' walk; this makes the apartment very easy to reach from anywhere.
The Esquilino neighborhood is a vibrant neighborhood that is quickly becoming one of the hippest neighborhoods in Rome, with an international flavor and a lot of activity.
Piazza Vittorio Emanuele II is the center of the quarter, with a park in the center and surrounded by monumentally-scaled residential and commercial buildings. For a unique shopping experience, visit the Magazzino allo Statuto store there. There are many beautiful churches in the Esquilino district – the most famous is Santa Maria Maggiore, and Santa Croce in Gerusalemme and San Giovanni In Laterano are at the other end of the via Merulana. In between, there is the Museo Nazionale dell'Arte Orientale, showing a notable collection of Asian art, and the interesting Ex Acquario Romano, a former aquarium that sometimes is a venue for art exhibitions.

"Loved living like a Roman while on vacation!"
We had a wonderful stay in Rome and Susanna and her welcoming home had a lot to do with that. Like the old saying "When in Rome....." so why stay at a hotel when you can rent an apartment for the same price? To add to the wonderful atmosphere Susanna was a wonderful host and answered our many questions before and during our stay. She was even willing to pick up Opera tickets from the box-office before our arrival.

"From Home to Home"
A most welcoming host with helpful local information. Ideal location for seeing the sites in Rome. Apartment was fully equipped and enabled us to make full use of fantastic local market, selling everything you could wish for. We cooked Spaghetti Vongolle one night and pan seared perch on another. Would definitely stay here again.

"Better than a hotel"
We really enjoyed our stay at Susanna's. During the booking process she replied quickly to all our questions. She is a charming host. As she had some time, she met us at the railway station and even showed us around the area so we saw things which we would not otherwise have seen. The flat was immaculately clean and Susanna seems to have thought of everything a guest could possibly want. The flat is internal so there was no street noise at all. It is located within an easy walk of Termini station and about 30 minutes on foot to the Colosseum. The Metro is a short walk and there are busses which stop opposite the flat. We would like to stay here again if we revisit Rome

"Great place to stay, home away from home."
What a find. Susannas is a home and sanctuary right in the middle of this amazing, frenetic city. From the termini it was very easy to find and we were made to feel very welcome. The home has everything you need and is very comfy. There is an amazing fresh food market virtually next door and supermarkets very close by. The weather was chilly when we arrived and we could not work the heat pump unfortunately, and it was difficult to get laundary dry, however this did dampen our spirits. This home is central, well appointed and comfy and we would highly recommend Susannas home to all.

"Perfect for the nervous explorer"
This is the perfect choice for the nervous explorer. Susanna offers a personalized service in a great (and easily accessible) location that is close to the train station and Metro. Everything you need is there: -Tourit - tourist books, maps, sticky notes, pens, portable phone to borrow and put in pay-as-you-go card, 2 bikes with helmets, WIFI, first aid kit. She also knows the city and can answer questions. She offers personalized airport pick up and drop off at a fair price. - Living - the aparmtment is spacious, kitchen well supplied, coffee and some breakfast items provided free, soft towels, hairdryer, shampoo slipperts etc., washing machine, electrical outlet adapters Very spacious for two but could accomodate up to 5. I also saw a crib available. Downside - As an apartment there is early morning and evening apartment noise (but never experienced outside of those times).

Susanna was very helpful, her apartment is ready for EVERYTHING you can imagine. I was travelling with a baby and she offered the crib and the high chair at no cost, plus there were toys to play with! She even came to the train station to meet us. Thanks a lot!

"Wonderful Roman Holiday"
From the first email contact with Susanna to our farewells on the last morning everything was perfect. The house is very comfortable, clean and the location is great, being close to Termini station, a supermarket there and a large fresh food market not far away as well as numbers of restaurants. We had everything we needed for a most enjoyable stay in Rome and it was cheaper and much nicer than a decent hotel. We cooked some nights and ate out others, did our washing on the last night (and most things were dry by morning) and the wifi was fast and reliable. There was very little noise from other apartments (none during the night) and none from the street, and the area was lively and quite safe.
