Location description from owner

The Lazio region

Lazio, birthplace of two of mankinds greatest institutions, the Roman Empire and the Catholic Church, is dominated and largely defined by its capital, Rome. Since ancient Roman times the region has been an extension of the city, where noble Roman families created their own towns and the wealthy built their villas in the surrounding countryside.

Rome

Rome is an open-air museum and from House Calpurnia all the tourist attractions can be visited on foot, but the closest are: The Basilica of St. John's 200 meters, the Basilica of San Clemente 150mt, the Colosseum 300mt , Palatine Hill, Roman Forum and Piazza Venezia.

“Clean, spacious apartment in great location!”

Reviewed 3 Feb 2014

We loved Casa Calpurnia -- it was so easy to find and so refreshing to check in to a cool, clean, comfortable place after a hot drive. Lots to do in the neighborhood, so many restaurants and with a family of five very convenient to walk to the colosseum and the ruins, not to mention many restaurants.

“Beautiful”

Arrived from the train station an easy walk to this wonderful apartment, met by the owner whom gave us directions to main attractions and restaurants, very helpful, The apartment is beautiful and well equipped with all we needed, Only there one night, we would have loved to stay longer. Highly recommend you stay in this beautiful apartment.

“Beautiful little apartment, safe and secure, so close to the Colosseum.”

Reviewed 2 Feb 2014

Claudia gave us tips on additional things to see in Rome. Her apartment is very close to the Colosseum. You can see it as you enter the street from the locked courtyard. Everything we needed was in the apartment. A fabulous supermarket is very close (also with views of the Colosseum, lovely restaurants, public transport etc. You must visit San Stefano Rotondo, a little visited 6 Century church that is walking distance. It has many, many frescoes, which I nicknames '100 ways to kill and cook a Christian'. Brilliant. I have recommended Claudia's apartment to friends and would very happily return myself.

“Best place of our 2 week vacation”

Reviewed 3 Dec 2012

This place was awesome! Due to the fact that the apartment did not have personal items we did not feel that we were living at someone else place like other places that we stay. The greeting was exceptional, she had city maps, coupons, show us where the market was, and basically had the answers to all of our questions. What to visit, where to eat, what to do what not to do, metro, buses, etc! Without any hesitation I would recommend this place to anyone who is traveling and do not want to be stuck in a hotel room after a full day of visiting.

“Fantastic!”

Reviewed 5 Nov 2012

The lady who owned the apartment Claudia was amazing, really friendly and welcoming. The Aprtment was beautiful, immaculately clean and tidy with all the creature comforts of home. The location was superb, right in the heart of Rome, minutes from the Colloseum! We had a truly fabulous time and would highly recommend a stay here! The price was excellent for the accommodation! Ita was all fantastic!!

“Wonderful apt with really nice owner”

Reviewed 1 Nov 2012

This reivew is a little late. We stayed here last dec for 1 night and we really love the place. We are a family with 2 young children. The children loved it, and there is a computer with printer that you can use. It's new, very clean, nicely decorated and exactly like the pictures. It was very convenient to the sights as well. The area is also safe. The owner is very friendly and very prompt in email communications. I will not hesitate to recommend this apt to my friends and i will definitely stay here again if i return to Rome. Thanks for the great stay !

“Fantastic Accomodation & Location!!!!!”

Reviewed 30 Aug 2012

It was our first visit to Rome & we couldn't have chosen a better place to stay. The apartment was large, welcoming & very clean. The location felt safe & you could see the Colosseum as soon as you left the building. Claudia, the owner was so helpful, both before we arrived & during our stay, recommending restaurants & organising taxis. We wouldn't look to stay anywhere else if we came back to Rome!

“Excellent property and location”

Reviewed 9 Aug 2012

Ideal location excellent standard and the owner claudia was very friendly and very helpful. She had information on all bus routes and all the best places to visit . Gave information on restaurants and had leaflets in the apartment providing information that previous guests had visited or collected. Nothing was too much trouble.

“Excellent”

Reviewed 2 Feb 2012

My 30 year old daughter and I traveled to Rome and stayed at Casa Calpurnia over the Christmas holiday 2011. The location is very near the Collosium and in walking distance to most of the places in Rome. Alternatively, the bus was very convenient. The apartment is very clean, quiet and looks very much like the pictures. The beds are very comfortable. There is a computer but also wifi which is nice. Claudia, the owner, was wonderful. She assisted us before arrival by going to venues to check on prices and tickets. She had fresh fruit for us upon arrival and even called cabs for us when we needed early morning cabs. She checked in with us regularly to make sure all was well.
