The Lazio region

Home of the Latins and then the Romans, Lazio is an ancient land, where signs of past grandeur are found in every corner of its amazing landscapes, fitting perfectly into the colourful and varied natural setting. The historical architectural, archaeological and artistic heritage combines harmoniously with the surrounding environment, ranging from the Apennine Mountains to plains and hills; where the parks and nature reserves testify to the ancient origins of unspoilt sites, together with splendid lakes and the shores of the Tyrrhenian Sea.Please visit http://www.ilmiolazio.it/wps/it/

Rome

One state living in another: Italy and the Vatican. The Vatican is the world's tiniest sovereign state, whose centre is the magnificent St. Peter's Basilica, where the Pope recites the Angelus prayers every Sunday. Its Basilica is a “must” for anyone coming to Rome.Do however remember to dress properly. The wearing of short skirts or short trousers and sleeveless dresses inside the Basilica is not allowed. The Vatican State also includes the splendid Vatican Museums.Among the most important and interesting in the world, a visit to the museum however does require a great deal of energy and patience. Queuing times may be shortened by booking online. The alleys encompassing the Vatican are part of the “Borgo” district, narrow, dimly-lit roads, packed with restaurants and souvenir shops which sharply contrast with the spacious, broad Via della Conciliazione. The Prati district offers an altogether different atmosphere which, with its shop-lined roads, attracts the serious shopper. Please visit http://www.turismoroma.it

“Wonderful and superbly located flat in Rome”

Reviewed 13 Dec 2015

My husband and I had a great stay in Rome. Thanks to the amazing location of this flat (a 2 minute walk to the Vatican and St Peter's) we were able to walk to all the main sights and everything felt as though it was on our doorstep. Thanks to Luisa we found a wonderful restaurant around the corner, the perfect coffee/bar (also just around the corner!) and the best ice cream in Rome is also to be found here in Prati. You simply couldn't want for more. The flat itself is clean, comfortable, in a very nice area and so we felt 100% safe at all times. The water was hot, the kitchen had everything you could possibly need. Thank you so much for giving us the perfect base from which to explore beautiful Roma.

“Better than perfect!”

This is my second stay and I will return. In addition to the extremely convenient geographic location, I can not say enough about how comfortable and well equipped the flat is. Everything needed is available and things you didn't even know you needed are also to be found. Great information provided for transfers, tours, etc too. The place is immaculately clean and all items are in new condition. You will be relaxed and feel at home with Rome waiting at the doorstep. Do not hesitate to book.

“Consigliatissimo”

Vacanza indimenticabile. All'accoglienza si nota che tutto è curato nei minimi particolari. La cortesia è da rimarcare ed apprezzare. La posizione in cui è situato l'appartamento permette di visitare la città con semplicità. grazie

“GREAT !”

“Wonderful Apartment in Terrific Location!”

Reviewed 4 Jan 2015

We enjoyed our two-week stay at Rome Vatican Flat during Christmas. The apartment is perfect for two people and is well-equipped, spacious, and very peaceful. Maria-Luisa is a concerned owner and tended to our requests immediately.

“Absolutely perfect!”

Reviewed 19 Nov 2014

We could not have asked for a better place to stay for our 6 days in Rome! Within 2 blocks to metro, and right outside of the Vatican! Many restaurants/shops within walking. Very large apt with full b/r, bath, kitchen, l/r, and a perfect hostess in Maria Luisa. Spotlessly clean in secure building. Perfect for 2, possibly a third if they sleep on the pull-out. We couldn't believe how lucky we were after talking to others staying in the area in smaller apartments for twice the price. There is nothing we would change, other than our residence here in the US for this lovely place. Thanks, Maria Luisa, for your hospitality.

“Merveilleux séjour à Rome”

Reviewed 6 Jun 2014

“Great welcome and location”

Reviewed 28 Apr 2014

We were in Rome for Easter and this flat is in a perfect location as it is so close to the Vatican - literally 5 minutes walk. We were met by Maria Louise and she showed us how everything worked (wifi, tv etc) before taking us for a walk around the neighbouring streets so we could find, supermarket, metro, fresh food market, laundrette and suggestions for some good local restaurants. The flat was well equipped and we were able to cook some lovely meals after visiting the market. After one days hard sightseeing we were delighted to arrived back at the flat to find a three course meal waiting for us. Maria Louise had said she would drop off some home cooking but we weren't expecting such generosity. The rental cost is very reasonable for such a central position. Although it is on 1st floor there is a lift, plus a helpful and friendly doorman.

“Just in the heart of Rome”

Near Città del Vaticano, just in the center of Rome, near metro and bus service. It's a little clean apartment available at a cheap rent. Owners are very kind.

“"I would like to have this apartment as my own..."”

Reviewed 7 Jan 2014

This well located appartment (Flat?) we rented for 10 days, is absoluttely charming. First floor with elevator, silent, well equipped, clean, safe, big bedrooms, excellent shower and kitchen with EVERYTHING we needed (stove, microwave, big refrigerator with separated freezer, lot of pans…), air conditioning, fan, TV, WIRELESS... If I describe all the things I will be boring, but I must describe one more thing: "one kit with needle, buttons and different colors of rows, for an emergency in relation to clothing (These items you will find in just a few five star hotels...). The location couldn`t be better: we walk just 75 meters and we are touching the Vatican Walls, 380 m we are inside the Vatican Museum, 400 m we are in front of “Piazza San Pietro”, 340 m to the Ottaviano metro stations. We can find supermarkets, restaurants, “gelaterias”, caffès, stores and bakeries all around. Of course “tourists are spread” in every place in Rome, but we felt “locals” in this excellent area called Prati. The photos describes quite OK the apartment, but when we come in that we can realize how spacious it really is. Much better stay in this amazing place than any five star hotel room. We can never compare price, size and privacy (even location, safety, silence and cleaness too). The owners are extremely helpful, besides being cute and lovable. We rented several apartments in other places (and other cities too), but definitely this is our favorite among all.
