Well, you could find part of me in the words of my past guests.....

What I could say more is that I really love to share my beloved guesthouse with 'my friends' and help them to have a wonderful stay.

It is nice to be part of their memories, seeing their smile is a great present for me :)

Believed or not I'm always a bit sad at each departure, I hate farewell....but I'm happy to have friends all over the world!!!

We loved since the very first sight this property, with the patio that face ruins full of history. A place to relax close to everything but quiet and peacefully.

Our area is quiet and safe, with easy access to everywhere also as the new metro stop is just at the end of the street, no more than 50 meters. The main station and the high way are just at hand.

The Lazio region

“Even a journey of a thousand miles starts with only one step”. LAO TSU

There are some places that more than others, are able to move us, to arouse our imagination, not because they are more beautiful, but perhaps because they are shrouded by a strange spell that involves each of us in a different way.

There are curious places, ancient shops of tradition that are worth a departure from the classical itineraries.

Places where to stroll without time and to stop and enjoy deep down nothing but what they have to tell us.

From our web-site "Agnes' Diary " : Roman walks

Ostia Antica

Visiting the archaeological excavations of Ostia Antica is an inner excursion, nearly a solitary excursion.

Quite far, alas, o perhaps luckily, from Rome, it enchants you from the moment you arrive with its charm so ancient, that it seems holy. On starting to walk along the roman road you immediately have the impression of hearing the prattle of its inhabitants of the past and wandering about the houses and shops you imagine them engrossed in their daily activities.

Then when this mysterious spell has really captured you, you find yourself in the Roman Theater, your eyes lose themselves among those ruins and taking seat on those stones, serene and touched, barely caressing them with your fingers, you cannot but feel history.

Palazzo Spada

You won’t certainly miss going around Campo de Fiori and the little streets in the Regola district. Veer off then, towards Piazza Farnese, if it isn’t already your destination, then turn left towards Via dei Pettinari and you will find yourself in the small Place of Capo di Ferro, there at number 13 is Palazzo Spada.

Palace, built by Cardinal Girolamo Capodiferro during the 16th century, and bought by Cardinal Bernardino Spada in 1632, at the present time it is the seat of the State Council.

If you don’t have time to drop into the interior of the Spada Gallery, that however well deserves a visit, enabling you to see the important operas of the 16th and 17th centuries that are exhibited there, and, if you are not struck with curiosity to see the great statue of Pompeo Magno at whose feet Julius Caesar is supposed to have been assassinated, kindly ask the museum keeper to enable you to visit the garden, and there enjoy the Borromini Gallery.

I won’t say anything else, I don’t want to spoil the surprise that the ingenious architect reserves us.

The Domus Aurea

In that wonderful area of the ruins of ancient Rome, too often and not only recently modified in its aspect, you can still try to imagine how could Rome have been once upon a time, approaching all the rest with different eyes.

On the Colle Oppio you can visit what remains of the sumptuous imperial residence, only a small part of the nearly 200 acres of estate on which the Domus Aurea was built. It was desired by Nero, after the terrible fire that destroyed a large part of the city in 64 D.C. of which he was also accused of starting.

The guest pavilion, saved because used subsequently by Traianus as foundations for his Thermae, permits us to “see”, in a suggestive semidarkness, that which before was full of light, and that had a spectacular panorama on the Stagnum Neronis, a large artificial lake in that part of the valley where, later on, the Coliseum was built.

Take a jumper with you, it can be cool down under there.

Domus Agnese Gold is a beautiful, extremely well appointed apartment in a quiet suberb of Rome. It is well served with bus and tube, so easy to get to all the main attraction. During our stay my husband had an accident resulting in 24 hours in A & E. Manuela and her husband were brilliant, staying virtually all the time with me, translating and ferrying me back and forth to the hospital. I could not have coped without them and feel that I have made a friend for life in Manuela. Because of Manuela we still managed to have a wonderful time in Rome!

"My Perfect Roman Holiday"

Domus Agnese is the perfect choice for anyone site seeing in Rome. You are initally greeted by the most beautiful hostess, Manuela, who has the warmest smile and makes you feel so welcome the minute you cross the threshold. Manuela will give to a thorough introduction to the apartment and surrounding area and give you any amount of advise you may need on what to do and see on your trip. The apartment itself is very clean and comfortable, not to mention tastefully decorated by the owner, exactly as the photos suggest. Located on a quiet street means that noise is not a problem. The metro is a short stroll away and will take you to all of the major sites within minutes ( we were queing for the papal audience within 30 minutes of leaving the apartment). Restaurants are plentiful in the area as well as a supermarket and bakery. The church of St.Agnese is just across the street and from there you can tour the catacombs below. I would not hesitate in recommending or returning to Manuela's stunning apartment. Enjoy!

"What a place"

I recently spent 3 nights in Rome with my girlfriend at Manuela's place and I cannot speak more highly of the apartment it was a great place to stay and very ideally located. Only 2 minutes walk from the apartment is the nearest station and in no more than 10 minutes you can get to Termini. The apartment is in a quite Roman area and is very safe and located close to a number of restaurants. As for Manuela what a lady she is , she was very kind and organised everything for us and it was a much more personable experience than staying at the hotel. Manuela was willing to help in anyway she could and she even booked a table for us at a very nice restaurant located near the apartment , the food was excellent and I would recommend going there. I would certainly go back to Manuela's if I was in Rome again and anyone going to Rome should consider staying at Manuela's , I can only speak highly of the apartment and Manuela.

"Stunning apartment, fabulous location, extraordinary kind, helpful host"

All my dealings with Manuela from day 1 was prompt, helpful. From receiving our international rugby tickets to finding a dry cleaner to steam my wedding dress before our elopement in Tuscany, Manuela obliged in every way, without her, my dress could have been a disaster. On arrival Manuela came to meet us after we inadvertently went to the wrong place, knowing we were going to the stadium to watch the game Manuale had plotted out the route from the apartment, differing modes of transport, approximate times. Nothing was overlooked. The apartment is beautiful, clean and stylishly furnished. It is close to a supermarket, the metro is minutes away and the central location made this a great location to see Roma for my first time. Manuela is the type of person you feel you have known forever and when I left I felt I had made a true friend. I will stay there again if I am fortunate to get to Roma, I highly recommend and nothing is to much trouble if you need to find out anything Manuela tries to assist so yr stay is easy. I felt like I was in my best friends home that looked 6 star! Thanks Manuela

"Home From Home with added comfort (made our stay 5*)"

Me and my partner stayed in the Bronze apartment for a week during September. I cannot express how amazing Manuela and her apartments are. (We got there early and asked for a sneak peak of the Silver and Gold apartments prior to the other guests arriving and I can say they are all beautifully finished) Manuela was extremely helpful throughout our contract prior to arriving and even sorted out a taxi from the airport. When we arrived she was there to greet us and gave us all the information we would need about the apartment, local area (bars, restaurants etc) and transport. (The Roma Pass is a good buy). My partner suffers from back problems and was concerned about the sofa bed in the Bronze apartment but we took a risk on Manuela's advice and I have got to say it was the most comfortable sofa bed we've ever slept on. The apartment was cleaned daily. Its very close to two super markets. A breakfast basket was provided each day. There is a metro stop at the end of the street, about a minutes walk away. The metro will get you to all the tourist destinations in Rome in roughly 10 - 20 minutes and only costs E1.50 for an hours unlimited travel (bargain). It is evident that a lot of time, thought and love has gone in to each apartment, and the kindness of Manuela really made us feel welcome. I wouldn't recommend or even try anywhere else in Rome to stay if you are looking for an apartment, as this was a real jewel. We shall defiantly return when we next visit Rome. (Best Wishes Manuela, from Daniel and David) xx

"Everything we hoped for and more"

The apartment was stunning and in beautiful condition, it was nicer than some 5* hotels I have stayed at before. Complimentary L'occitane toiletries, monogrammed bed sheets and pillows, extensive DVD and Music library, ambient lighting, well stocked breakfast / welcome pack (enough for 2 for a long time), wifi internet, a/c, heating etc.. Manuela had thought of everything and she spent time with us explaining everything we needed to know about the apartment, travel in and around Rome, tourist information etc.. she even helped us purchase travel tickets! I cannot recommend Mauela's apartment more highly. Next time I return to Rome I will re-book for sure. Thank you for helping to make my Mother's birthday trip so memorable.
