2 The Bolts is a charming holiday cottage built around 300 years ago which retains many of the beautiful internal features you would hope to see in a traditional period home like this. A short walk from the sea in the heart of the picturesque old village of Robin Hood's Bay, this cottage is the perfect base for walking the Cleveland Way, beach trips, and sightseeing along the beautiful North Yorkshire coastline.

We welcome one pet dog by prior arrangement, but please note that the cottage is strictly no smoking.

The Holiday cottage is available throughout the year, and sleeps up to six people in two twin rooms and one double room. PLEASE NOTE: The Living room and kitchen are situated on the ground floor, but as with many cottages in Robin Hood's Bay, the upper two floors are accessed by a narrow, winding and relatively steep staircase. Please take this into account when making a booking with either children or individuals with mobility problems. Each bedroom has a distinctive character, (with all bedding provided), and the bathroom boasts a traditional washstand and luxurious roll top bath, but you will need to bring your own towels. (Please note that we do not have a full size shower at the cottage). There is ample seating for six in the living room, where you can enjoy a real open fire, or a family meal around the large pine table. Self catering is made easy with a good sized kitchen.

There is a small wooden bench outside the cottage where a couple can enjoy a drink at the end of the day, and hopefully you will have weather which allows you to do so!

Alongside the traditional and original cast iron fireplaces you will find gas central heating, dishwasher, Freeview TV, iPod docking station, DVD player and excellent high quality cooking facilities. We are a stone's throw from the village's various interesting shops and pubs, and only a short walk from the sea too. Whitby and Scarborough are easily accessible if you need the facilities of a larger town.

Wi-Fi is available in the cottage too, if you need to keep in touch with the outside world...

How do damage deposits work?

In most cases, you don’t pay a damage deposit up front. Instead, we save your payment details securely and you’re only charged in the event of damage to the property.

Occasionally, you will pay a damage deposit up front as part of the total rental cost. In this case, the owner has 10 days after you check out to report any damage. If they don’t, we’ll return your deposit. If their claim is successful, we’ll deduct the agreed cost and return the remainder.

How do I edit my booking?

You can request to change the dates or number of people on your booking via the Manage your holiday booking page. To change your holiday dates use the Edit booking button. If you need to change the number of guests staying then send Mike (the owner) a message.

If Mike (the owner) agrees, they’ll send you a revised quote outlining the changes. You can review and accept/decline this from the Manage your holiday booking page. You’ll have 48 hours to take action before the revised quote expires.
