Location description from owner

The Trentino-Alto Adige region

The North of Italy is known for it's clean, well presented resorts. Riva sits at the top of Lake Garda with views down the lake to the horizon. It's pretty cobbled street in the old town house many shops and restaurants where you can buy typical local produce, leather goods and shoes, ornaments and jewellery.

With sizzling summer temperatures of 30 degrees + from June to September and a micro climate in the winter months that shelters Riva from the ice and snow of the surrounding mountains. 1 hours drive in the winter will find you on the local ski resorts and in the summer the town is alive with water sport and mountain bike enthusiasts.

Riva Del Garda

Verona, an hours drive away, is a beautiful old city. Not only the home to Romeo and Juliette, but also to the spectacular operatic productions that are staged in the Arena during the summer.

Venice can be reached in two hours and is a stunningly beautiful city, built on the water and providing the most romantic of destinations.

Sophisticated Milan is a slightly longer journey of over two hours, but provides and day of pure style and culture.

Locally, the picturesque towns around the lake can be visited by boat, either the public paddle steamer or by privately hired speedboats (20 minutes drive away). A drive into the mountains will find alternative smaller and quieter lakes with beaches and the opportunity to relax in the slightly cooler altitudes.

Gardaland and Caneva Sport are a must for the young and young of heart, a theme and a water park at the south of the lake will be the children's favourite.

A festival for children at the end of August, gives and excuse for the locals to decorate the town and a grand firework display on the lake is not to be missed.

“Spacious, comfy, great location, ideal for families + groups”

Reviewed 14 Nov 2015

We just spent 4 days at this great apartment and would definitely return! The location is excellent with a fantastic sunny balcony facing a pedestrian street. The parking garage is conveniently close, as are shops, restaurants, the lake, hiking, etc. The showers and heating worked well (in my experience, this not a given in countries where the weather is warm most of the year) and an added plus was the huge DVD collection, though we didn't have time to actually watch much. Too much sunshine and good food waiting for us right outside the door. :-)

“Fabulous apartment in fabulous location.”

Wonderful location. Parking easy. The apartment has all you need for short or long stay. All arrangements went smoothly - nothing was difficult. Would highly recommend.

“The perfect family apartment, magnificently situated in a beautiful town”

Reviewed 19 Oct 2014

Our young family and extended family had a great time in Riva. After travelling with young children (2,4 & 6) for a couple of weeks around the USA, arriving in Italy without sleep and finding our way to Riva with tired grumpy kids, it was a huge relief to find a spacious, clean and extremely comfortable apartment. The children were in their element, they loved having a siesta and their breakfast on the balcony, there was room for them to relax and a great selection of kids DVD's, bikes, games etc. Everything that could make a family comfortable was provided at the apartment, All rooms were spacious, clean and filled with light and fresh air. We ate in most evenings as the kitchen was well equipped and the dinning/lounge room a great retreat after a busy day in and out of town. The location of the apartment was a dream, we couldn't ask for any more. Thank you so much for accommodating our needs as a family, from the moment we booked until we arrived and department. We will definitely be recommending Condominium Dante to our friends and hope to come back again in the future.

“Spacious and comfortable base to explore Lake Garda”

Reviewed 22 May 2014

Condo Dante was a very spacious and light-filled apartment with an ideal location just across a pedestrian-only street from the medieval gate to the old town center of Riva del Garda. Everything in Riva, from great restaurants and bars, to shopping and excursion boats, are a mere five to ten minute walk away. The apartment included the use of a dedicate indoor garage space half a block away, so it was a breeze to load and unload luggage or hop in the car for an excursion along the breathtaking roads around the lake. There is a small grocery store literally right across the street from the apartment building entrance, where all the necessities can be found, and a much larger grocery just a few blocks away. The apartment has a nicely remodeled and fully-equipped kitchen, as well as a clothes washer and dryer (a rarity in Italy). The large and well-furnished balcony enjoys views of the city gate and of the spectacular mountains that ring the town. The owners, who live in England, are great to deal with and very responsive. The owner's uncle lives full-time just a few miles away. This is the gentleman who met us at the apartment and showed us the ropes, and it gave us great peace of mind to know he lived so close by. Riva del Garda is a lovely and scenic town. A little on the touristy side, but with great bars and restaurants. Many excursion boats leave from Riva for visits to other lakeside towns. The roads from Riva are, as I mentioned above, offer some really spectacular drives, but since there's limited access (you are, after all, surrounded by mountains), there can be a lot of traffic. Riva is definitely a magnet for many outdoor sport types, with great hiking and mountain biking trails, and reliable constant breezes for wind surfing. However, we were more than satisfied sitting outside at our favorite bar, sipping some of the local wine and soaking in the amazing views of snow-capped mountains rising out of the lake. Great excursions along the lake include Sirmione, Limone, Bardolino, Malcesine and Desenzano. You can reach these either by boat or by car. Don't miss Gabriele D'Annunzio's villa Il Vittorial in Gardone, for a bit of bizarre and creepy Italian history. Also highly recommended is the scenic 45 minute drive north to visit the city of Trento, a real undiscovered gem. All in all, we were delighted with our stay at Condo Dante, and cannot recommend it more highly

“Very convenient, excellent location”

Reviewed 24 Apr 2013

Condo Dante is very convenient and home-like apartment with excellent location in Riva Del Garda. Old town is just 50 meters away, with several restaurants and shops. Apartment was exactly as expected and the fotos give a good outlook what to expect . We stayed for 10 days and this type of accomodation is very nice for longer stays. Kitchen is equipped with all necessary appliances and everything worked well. Bedrooms are large and quiet. Kids liked to play Nintendo and we even had time to watch few movies from the large dvd library provided by the owner. We already booked this for our next stay in Riva!

“JUST A GREAT APARTMENT”
