“Absolutely fantastic”

Reviewed 17 Mar 2015

We called Dona Conchita our home for six months, and can honestly say that there aren't enough positive adjectives to describe both the property and the support of Simon and Jeanette during our time here. The village and surrounding countryside are exactly what you'd expect from rural Spain beautiful, unspoilt and a gregarious, outgoing and inviting population. Conchita is perfectly situated in the centre of the village with everything you could need from a pharmacy across the road to Heinz beans at the local supermarket, part of Conchita's charm is its simplicity and dare I say it absolute bargain for the price you pay...the views from the terrace during the day are wonderful and on a clear night I can't remember seeing that many stars in the sky!!! We highly recommend Dona Conchita for a true taste of the real Spain.

Even prior to booking the owner was fantastic, answering email queries quickly and giving helpful information about the property and travel. On arriving at the property it was just as the pictures showed. It was impeccably clean and had absolutely everything we needed to spend a wonderful week in the Andalusian hills. The property itself has all of the simple amenities necessary and kitchen utensils you would need to cook and we took advantage of this, not least so that we could eat our meals on the wonderful roof terrace. That said, in the village there are several bars, butchers, a chemist and supermarkets; which don't seem to be mentioned on the web. There was literally everything we needed on our doorstep. Brush up on your Spanish before going though as most of the locals don't speak English. Without doubt the roof terrace was the highlight, though it got incredibly hot in the afternoon, it provided a stunning view as evening fell and the peace and tranquility the apartment offers, just a stone's throw from Malaga by car, was absolutely worth it. I can whole heartedly recommend the property for holiday rental, I would say 4 people would fit comfortably, perfect for two and for a relaxing break.

“Nice house, lovely roof terrace”

Reviewed 29 May 2014

We were two friends wishing to have a base from where to explore Andalucia. Riogordo was an ideal location for this, not too far from e.g. Sevilla, Cordoba or Granada. Doña Conchita apartment was comfortable and well equipped. For two people it is great, but two couples might find the bedrooms and beds a bit small. The bathroom was clean and the shower worked really well. Remember that there is no air conditioning or heating; in May this was fine but in August you might need some cooling. Absolutely the best feature of the apartment is the private terrace on the roof. Amazing views, sun all day long, lovely to have breakfast or evening meal watching the sun go down. We would gladly recommend Doña Conchita to anyone, it is good value for money!
