Tropical Hideaway Pool House is a beautiful and very unique property offering a combination of luxury, privacy, space and affordability that is hard to come by these days. The accommodation is very cleverly designed and utilises the massive pool patio and the steps leading up to the main villa as it's roof. It measures over 20m (65') long and has an open plan mezzanine bedroom with a lovely vaulted ceiling. The Pool House has large double patio doors with covered veranda's and lovely sea views at both ends of the house.

The accommodation is reached from the pool bar steps and once entered you cannot fail to be impressed. A large, spacious, fully functioning kitchen, complete with a full size range cooker, large Belfast sink, American style fridge freezer with icemaker, washing machine and dining table use just a small area of the property. Two open plan bedrooms and a massive general relaxation and seating area utilise the rest.

A large en-suite shower room and toilet compliments the property and this has been finished to a very high standard using natural coral stone tiles. The walk through shower is huge and is finished in natural stone pebble and coral.

The Northern aspect has lovely views looking over Admiralty bay, the natural forested hills and the tropical gardens. This is where the main bedroom is situated and this can be screened off from the rest of the house by curtains if additional privacy is required. The prevailing tropical breeze wonders through the house and out through the South facing patio doors which have a beautiful view overlooking the Caribbean Sea and the rugged coastline. Sunsets from here can be lovely. Another open plan bedroom utilises a large mezzanine area which is reached from the curved steps by the kitchen. This second bedroom allows the property to be used by a family or by friends who wish to share.

The latest High-Tec Samsung 40” internet Tv gives access to our in-house entertainment system supplying high definition films, Tv, music and Internet radio. High speed internet and Wi-Fi is supplied in the house and for those really hot days when the cooling Caribbean wind has taken a rest, you can turn on the main bedroom air conditioner until the breeze returns. A ceiling fan is also positioned over the beds in both of the bedrooms. All of the windows are fully screened and the patio doors have sliding insect screens allowing you to have the doors and windows open and still enjoy the ambience of outdoor living without getting bitten. We have no biting sand flies (no see ums) at Tropical Hideaway and are usually mosquito free most of the year, except for a few around evening time.

The very large and beautiful 18m wide Infinity edge swimming pool is literally just a few steps away and this is solar heated, allowing the pool to be enjoyed all year round. Our winter pool temperatures are usually just below 30deg C with our summer pool temperatures rising to around 34deg C (93deg F). The majority of the pool is around 1.3m (52”) deep increasing to a maximum depth of around 2.2m (86”). Curved and generous steps allow easy access to the water and several raised areas provide an abundance of areas to sit, stand, chat or relax. Natural coral seats surround both the pool bar and the Gazebo daybed and with the large cedar tile roof overhangs, shade can be found in the pool at most times of the day. The entire pool is tiled using natural stone pebbles in pastel shades of greens and blues creating a visually stunning, balanced and natural effect, that blends perfectly with the turquoise colours of the Caribbean sea. As your eyes wonder out over the infinity edge and focus on the horizon, you cannot fail to be impressed. Now would be a good time to pinch yourself and appreciate the realisation of where you are and what you are looking at. These are often very private and magical moments and we know these memories will be with you for many years to come.

The Gazebo has a daybed suitable for up to 4 people and enjoys high definition Tv, music, internet radio and Wi-Fi. This is the ultimate place to wind down, relax and read a book or simply take in the stunning, panoramic views, they will take your breath away. Your own personal drinks and food can be enjoyed from these areas and the sunken, swim up Pool Bar, has a fridge, sink and serving area for your convenience. Led lighting enhances the evening ambience and pool lights allow the pool to be used after the sun has set. A large, non slip, coral tile patio adjoins directly onto the pool and this is furnished with sun loungers, parasols, chairs and tables, the perfect place to sunbathe and relax.

Tropical Hideaway has without doubt some of the finest rooms on Bequia and coupled with the spectacular panoramic ocean views, and the beautiful evening sunsets, you soon realise you are enjoying, what many say, are the finest views on Bequia, from the finest accommodation on Bequia. Specialising in couples and small groups Tropical Hideaway can sleep from 2 to 12 guests in luxurious and very private accommodation. Please view our other listings here or visit our comprehensive website for details on the Tropical Hideaway Infinity Room, Hibiscus and Palm Cottage and the incredible Tropical Hideaway Penthouse Suite.

We know you will enjoy the experience.

The Bequia region

The small island of Bequia gives you the true Caribbean, a sought after yet not quite discovered piece of paradise which is hard to find anywhere else. Unspoilt by mass tourism, it feels like home from the moment you arrive. You will find the people relaxed and easy-going, greeting you as you walk by and always available to offer help and advice.

The small airport opened in 1992. Until then, you could only reach Bequia by sea. This seafaring heritage is very evident on the island. Every family has some ties to the sea through fishing, boat building, sailing, merchant shipping and everyone has a tale to tell, over a beer or two. It is also a yachties 'best kept secret' and most yachts large or small find they drop anchor in the pretty bay at some time during their voyage. It is an island not to be missed

There are many beautiful, natural white sandy beaches, lush green hillsides and attractive villages. It caters for guests who want a quiet, relaxing holiday,or to those who want to fill their time with fun and adventure. During the winter season especially, there is something going on somewhere every night of the week..

The Caribbean is blessed with ideal temperatures all year round with daytime temperatures averaging between 25C (77F) and 30C (86F) throughout the year. An evening in the winter months (January to March) might see a low of around 24C (75F) and in the summer months the temperature will occasionally reach 32C (90F).

Princess Margaret, Lower Bay and Friendship Bay have some of the best beaches on the island and they are all within walking distance, Take a picnic or eat and drink at the local restaurants and bars. Belmont Walkway is only 25 minutes away and is a beautiful beachfront pathway passing various cafes, bars and shops which are well worth visiting. Both dive operators are based along here and cater for novices to experts. This is very popular pastime with visitors who want to explore the beautiful clear waters.

You can discover the island by taxi, or you can hire a car, scooter or bike. You can visit the Turtle sanctuary, plantation gardens, museums and pottery which are dotted around. Take a day trip to the neighbouring Mustique, Union or Canouan islands by fast ferry, or the world famous Tobago Cays by yacht or the Friendship Rose. Visit our 'mainland' of St Vincent and explore the volcano and waterfalls.

Bequia has its own 4 day Easter Regatta where, if you are lucky, you may be invited to race on one of the boats. It also has its own 4 day Music Fest at the very end of January. Bequia Carnival is usually in June and Vincy Carnival is around late June/early July

"Tropical Hideaway - the pictures don't even get close."

The overall experience was amazing from the start to finish. We was collected from the airport and once we arrived at the Tropical Hideaway we met Martin and Julia who were so friendly and welcoming, they gave us a tour of the property and went above and beyond with their hospitality to welcome us, the second week we met martin and Julie's daughter Corrie who was also so friendly, kind and helpful. The pool house was a beautifully spacious 2 double bed apartment the 2nd bedroom is on the mezzanine level, the apartment has huge open plan kitchen, very large bathroom (great shower), also has two balconies facing opposite sides of the property with spectacular views. The Infinity pool is out of this world, Truly stunning day and night through the two weeks many hours/day were spent there. We enjoyed nights in ordered fresh local tuna straight from the fishermen and whacked on BBQ. Also Corrie arranged for us to hire the singing chef who came to the tropical hideaway to cook and entertain one evening which i would definately recommend to anyone visiting- it was a great night with very tasty food. The location of the property is perfect as your close enough to get down to town but also still secluded enough to have complete privacy and quietness. many days we took a stroll down for lunch, dinner, daytime drinks chilling on the sea front even some late night drinks at some of the rum shacks. I would definately like to visit again. Having to leave was truly one of the hardest thing I've done. I'd recommend it to everyone as it is suitable for all ages, couples and families. Many thanks again, such an amazing place Martin, Julie, Corrie and how could we forget (Missy the 3 Bengal cats)
