We are located in the Dordogne region of France and set in 80 acres of beautiful countryside. The luxury holiday caravan which sleeps 5 people and has fantastic views over the lake. Jungle Lake is stocked with carp to 30lbs.
The caravan has one double bedroom with a very good sized double bed and the seating area has a pull out double sofa bed. A further single bed can be made by modifying the dining area.
The kitchen has a large fridge and freezer, an oven, gas hob and small sink. Bathroom facilities (shower, loo & basin) are located in a small cabin at the end of the caravan.
The caravan also has UK satellite TV.
We also have a 7 acre Specimen carp lake, which can be included with your booking, at a discounted rate. If you don't want exclusive use of the Specimen Lake, individual places may be available at a day ticket rate, if space allows. You can either drive to the Specimen Lake, or walk (about 10 mins); it is stocked with common carp, mirror carp, grass carp, koi carp as well as big cat fish and black bass.
Alternatively, if you're not really into fishing, the caravan is also an idyllic retreat for anyone wanting to get away from it all for a while as it is in such a beautiful holiday setting.
We are not exclusively aimed at fishing holidays, there are plenty of other things to do and see in this area of France. We are in the heart of the Perigord region which is renowned for its good food, wine and excellent French markets; surrounded by vineyards, châteaux and historical towns such as St Emilion, Bergerac, Perigueux, Bordeaux etc. On the other hand, you may want to come just to enjoy the lovely surroundings and take advantage of the peace and quiet in which to have a very secluded and relaxing holiday in the south west of France.

The Dordogne region
There are lots of thing to do and see in the area and the coast is just over an hour and a half’s drive away.
Also within easy driving distance are Bordeaux, Bergerac, Perigueux, St Emilion, Brantome and many other towns of interest suitable for an easy day out.
A few kilometers up the road is the village of La Jemaye which has a huge public lake looked after and monitored by the local council and is free (including the use of kayaks). There is a designated (& supervised) swimming area which has a floating platform offshore for swimming to and diving off, as well as a playground, picnic area, forest walks (one with an activity theme which the kids love), restaurants and shop.
There are many opportunities to go kayaking, or if you prefer, other organized boat trips are available where you will see some of the stunning scenery along the Dordogne river.
The Dordogne is a beautiful region of forests and rolling hills with some of the best vineyards in the world creating some of the finest wines.
Our local village is only small but has a very good bar/restaurant which offers a lunchtime or evening service. The lunchtime menu is excellent value and has a good selection of dishes, including the best chips you will ever taste! The owners speak fluent English and are happy to cater for vegetarians (with a bit of prior notice).
There is also a butchers and a boulangerie/village shop so freshly baked goods are always available, including croissants, chocolatines, pain au raisin, baguettes etc.
The larger town of Montpon is about 10 minutes away and here you can find all the usual shops, banks, tourist information etc. as well as a fishing tackle shop. There is a free leisure lake with sandy beach, playground, water slide, snack restaurant and lifeguards in the summer.
The market is held every Wednesday morning where you can peruse a fabulous display of stalls which offer a wide variety of food and local produce, clothes etc.
Montpon also has a large Sturgeon Farm which is open most days to visitors so you can see how caviar is made and buy some as well.
Riberac is just north of us and is set in the Dronne valley. It dates from the 9th century and is at its best on a Friday which is market day and reputedly one of the biggest markets in Perigord. It is surrounded by Romanesque churches and there is a pretty circuit that passes by many of the little villages and churches of the region
In July and August there is a superb night market held every Tuesday evening by the flood-lit church in the village of Le Pizou which is about 10 mins away. The stalls are mainly food orientated and so the biggest decision is choosing what to eat e.g. duck, snails, mussels, paella, roast pork, spit roast lamb stuffed with couscous......There is no entry fee even though there is live music and dancing. It is a truly French experience and highly recommended for a fun night out.
