The North Wales region

The town of Rhuddlan sits in the county of Denbighshire, North Wales. It lies on the banks of the River Clwyd to the east of Abergele, north of St Asaph and to the south of Rhyl. Rhuddlan is renowned for both its Edwardian Castle and the Church of St Mary, both of which stand on the banks of the River Clwyd. Rhuddlan Castle is one of the “Iron Ring of Castles” built by the English King Edward 1 to suppress the Welsh and never fails to impress. Castles and Forts Rhuddlan Castle was built between the years of 1277 and 1282 on a site just northwest of an existing Norman motte and bailey castle (Twthill). History In Rhuddlan high street there is a carved stone plaque on the gable wall of the Parliament Building that commemorates the "Statute of Wales,” sometimes known as the "Statute of Rhuddlan.” Walks, Cycle Trails and Other Activities Walkers will appreciate the landscape around Rhuddlan as it is relatively flat, well compared to the rest of Wales. There are many walks criss-crossing the landscape and the North Wales Path meanders through the town. The Clwydian Way can also be accessed from Rhuddlan.

North Wales

North Wales is a fabulous place to spend either a few days or 1-2 weeks on your holiday. The area has it all from some of the most fabulous mountain ranges/scenic areas, miles of golden sands with completely clean sea water, hundreds of activities to do including some unique to the whole of the UK such as the Llanberris 1 mile zip wire experience, the soon to be open artificial surf attraction and the slate quarry trampoline attraction. The coastal path provides miles and miles of some of the best walks around plus the cycle path network gives safe fantastic cycling pleasure. The Garden suite is situated right on the edge of Snowdonia in The Vale of Clwyd so you will have plenty of choice with what to do, however it is not far from the major motorways so doesn't take forever to get here.I could go on forever about what the area of North Wales has to offer however as everything is available these days at the click of a mouse I'm sure you will see for yourself quite easily.

“Beautiful suite and grounds”

Reviewed 1 Nov 2016

Booked the Garden Suite for my daughters' 19th Birthday as we had tickets for a show at Pavillion Theatre in Rhyl. Knew it would be beautifully decorated and equipped as we normally stay at the owners other property in Prestatyn but it was already booked. Lovely welcome pack awaited us with chocolates and cereals. Lovely fluffy bathrobes and slippers supplied but we had such a short busy stay that we never had time for the fabulous hot tub - we can't wait to come back in summer to use it. Garden was beautifully maintained and secure for our dog. The suite is perfectly located only a short drive from Rhyl and Prestatyn and we even ventured to Ruthin Castle (about 30 mins away) for afternoon tea. I would definitely recommend the Garden Suite - especially for a couples romantic retreat.

Thank you Marilyn so glad you enjoyed your stay and your daughter had a good birthday.

“Hidden Gem”

Reviewed 27 Dec 2014

What a lovely start to Christmas. The photos do not do the suite justice. The accommodation is tastefully decorated to a high standard with every amenity you could wish for. The hosts are extremely welcoming, friendly and helpfull. The hot tub was amazing, and the tandem adds a unique touch to the experience. Looking forward to returning in February. Thank you so much
