“'A Wonderful Retreat'”

Reviewed 12 Aug 2016

My husband, son, partner and myself returned last weekend from Orchard Cottage. What a wonderful stay we all had. Arthur is a lovely man and was very keen to make sure we had a pleasant stay. The cottage was well equipped with everything we needed. It is situated on very quiet road and has a large garden. The surrounding area is beautiful and Rhos is only a ten minute walk away. There was also ample free parking on the sea front. I cannot recommend this cottage highly enough and if ever I am in the area, I would not hesitate to stay there again.

Owner's reply: Thank you so much for your lovely comments and I am really glad that you had a great time in Orchard Cottage. We do try hard to make holidays as enjoyable and as special as possible, see you again soon. Arthur

“A fantastic base to explore North Wales in a beautiful location with a very warm welcome.”

There is absolutely nothing negative we can say about our stay at Orchard Cottage. Upon arrival we were greeted by Arthur, the owner of the property who welcomed us with a huge smile and showed us into the cottage. Myself and my wife were travelling with our little girl which we had already let Arthur know when he got in touch to ask how many beds we would like making up. All prior contact was fantastic and we were provided with a welcome letter, directions etc. Whilst showing us round Arthur suggested his daughter may have left a little welcome gift for our little girl which turned out to be bigger than her! There was also a bottle of fizz left chilling in the fridge for us from Arthur and his wife Jacqui and they had been out and bought a microwave in case we should need to warm up our daughter's food/milk (that's pretty good customer service in anyone's book I think). They recommended a few places to eat and visit on our stay and then left us to get settled in. We bumped in to them on a couple of occasions entering and leaving the cottage and had a few friendly chats but not once did we feel that we were staying on someone else's property and had plenty of privacy and didn't feel like an intrusion into their lives at all. The house and cottage and their beautiful gardens are subtly but successfully seperated to give everyone their own space. We had some fantastic weather and made the most of it by visiting Rhos, Anglesey, Snowdonia, Bangor, Conway and stunning Llandudno (where we spent a lot of time), there is a lot to do in the area and we found we were out and about every day. This being said the garden is pretty and comfortable enough to sit and relax with a glass of wine and a book if that's what you fancy, or Rhos Harbour and the beach at Colwyn Bay are only a 10 minute walk away (the sea is only a street away). We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and couldn't have been made to feel more at home by Arthur and his family (he has also been in touch since to see how my daughter is getting on after a routine operation), they are lovely people with a lovely holiday home that we would happily recommend to anyone, Thank you very much for a great week.

Owner's reply: Thank you for such lovely comments, its was lovely meeting you all and I'm really pleased that you enjoyed your stay at Orchard cottage.
