Description from owner

Description

Whether you want to surf, swim, walk, climb or just relax in the peace of this beautiful headland house drinking in the far reaching views, time spent at "Awelon" will recharge the batteries. The house has just been refurbished to the highest standard and has plenty of space for everyone (10-12 people plus 2 cots) to do their own thing.

The coves and beaches all around the house are there to be explored, and the fishing village of Aberdaron and the more buzzy harbour at Abersoch are all minutes away by car, and yet the tiny hamlet of Rhiw provides the sort of silence and tranquillity that is so rare. NOW WITH A HOT TUB

Further details

All John Lewis bedding is included in the house rental price, as are towels.

Huge L shaped Kitchen Diner with 3.2m dining table for 12, Aga like range and granite fireplace; large sitting room with french doors and slate terrace with panoramic views over the bay and Mountains - giant logburning

Location description from owner

The North Wales region

Mild micro-climate moderated by being surrounded by sea provides this calm rural area with plenty of opportunities for exploring the rich culture and history of the area - Bronze age axe factory, Manganese mines, Celtic standing stones - and that is just in the village itself!
Overlooks the premier Surfing beach of North Wales with Atlantic rollers coming up unimpeded from Bay of Biscay. The beaches of Abersoch are sheltered and gently sloping providing warm safe bathing.
The 'Edge of Wales' walk that now connects Cornwall with Scotland passes by the house and the headland that forms part of this is National Trust owned and accessible by the gate at the end of the garden - ideal for children to explore safely away from any traffic and dogs to be walked down to the 'Land's End" of the peninsular where the land drops into the sea with views over the islands and the bays where Dolphins often appear.

Rhiw

Wakestock festival, Surfing competitions, fishing, walking, swimming, sailing, beachcombing,in idyllic surroundings. The Whitewashed fishing villages of Aberdaron (4 miles) and the busy and buzzy Abersoch (6 miles) plus the market town of Pwllheli (17 miles) all provide a variety of family days out. Also trips to Bardsey Island and its retreat Monastery and chance of dolphin views on the way, the manor house (National Trust) of Plas-yn-Rhiw, the Italianate Port Merion (where the filming of "The Prisoner" took place) add to the appeal of "Awelon"
