The house is only 300m from the village centre of Le Rayol where there are shops, some good restaurants and tennis courts (500m). The nearest beach, only 200m, is a sheltered sandy cove, quite small but very attractive, but with quite a steep walk home! One local site not to be missed is the Domaine du Rayol Gardens with its wonderful range of Mediterranean plants. Saint Tropez is about 22k, and although busy in summer, it has retained its charm; with its quayside cafés overlooking the yachts There is much to visit in this magnificent stretch of coast known as the Corniche des Maures, Le Lavandou, about 14k, is great for water sports and diving, the little village of La Mole where St Exupéry lived, the family resort of Cavalaire-sur-Mer with its long sandy beaches, local markets in Le Lavandou, Saint Tropez and Bormes les Mimosa. Nice airport is about an hour and a half's drive.
