This charming cottage is located in the village of Ravenstonedale i in an area of Outstanding Natural Beauty in the Westmoreland Dale. The Lake District and Yorkshire Dales are within easy driving distance, walking is from the doorstep (we are at the foot of the Howgills) and the village offers two pubs with restaurants, golf and tennis. Fishing (lake and river), riding and the famous Settle-Carlisle railway are nearby.

This cottage consists of two adjoining terraced village cottages linked by a downstairs interior door and will to accommodate up to 5 people in three bedrooms. The cottage has been lovingly refurbished without losing its wonderful character. The property retains original features such as beams, open fires, and window recesses.

Downstairs: dining room, beamed ceiling, open fireplace; comfortable sitting room with open fireplace; kitchen and utility room. Kitchen is well equipped with an electric cooker, fridge, microwave, toaster, kitchen

Upstairs are three first floor bedrooms: one double bedroom, a single bedroom, a bathroom with shower, hand basin and toilet; accessed up a separate set of stairs is a second double bedroom with a small fireplace and adjoining dressing room with fitted shower cubicle, hand basin and toilet.

Outside there is a patio table and chairs, a garden complete with lawn and views over the countryside, at the end of the garden there is private parking for two cars and free on street parking at the front of the cottage.

Note: This is an 18th century cottage with beamed ceilings, open fireplaces, and steps. The first floor bedrooms are accessed via two separate staircases. Outside there are four steps up to the raised garden area.

Prices are inclusive of utilities, bedlinen, towels, utilities.

A dog is welcome by prior arrangement on condition that it is not allowed upstairs, on the furniture, and especially the beds, nor left unattended in the accommodation. Owners must bring a dog bed for their pet. A charge of £15 per week or part week will be made.

Westmorland is the region of Cumbria that lies between the famous Lake District and the beautiful Yorkshire Dales The Lake District with its wealth of National Trust Properties, spectacular scenery and beautiful lakes is within easy driving distance, Windermere is approx 30 miles away. In the Dales where you seem to step back in time amid beautiful stone built villages, traditional pubs, wonderful scenery; Hawes, Dent , Sedburgh lie with 10 miles. Clear water lakes, open fells, impressive mountains peaceful valleys, the Lake District and Dales can supply them all. Visit the houses of Beatrix Potter and William Wordsworth, enjoy Windermere, Ulswater and Conniston Lakes with a cruise round the Lake or a trip on a steam driven train or yacht. Visit the Wesleydale cheese factory, the pretty village of Dent or the famous High Force waterfall.

Ravenstonedale

The Area.

Ravenstonedale, said by Wainwright to probably be the prettiest village in Westmorland. There are 2 pubs within walking distance, a golf course, and tennis courts. River and trout fishing locally as well as horse riding facilities. There is a heritage railway and also the famous Settle to Carlisle line 4 miles away. Relax, walk down flower filled lanes, explore the Howgills, take vintage coach trips into the Dales, or go for trips into the Lakes. The Town of Kirkby Stephen with its shops, cafes, restaurants and pubs is 5 miles away. Walking can be enjoyed from the doorstep, along quiet lanes, into the Howgills or over Ravenstonedale Common. Depending on the time of year enjoy local life from flower festivals, open garden days, music, and vintage vehicle rally.
