* A flavour of some things to be doing out and about nearby:

Walk and explore the sandy beach and rockpools ..paddle along the shore, swim when the sea is calm/warm?! surf when it rollers up! (take lessons with Harlyn Surf School, if you like or have vouchers?!)
Walk, take the dog along.. go jogging the coastal path either over to Trevone in the Padstow direction or to Cataclews headland at the far end of Harlyn.. just go there and sit on a bench overlooking the horseshoe shaped Harlyn bay - relax with the sun on your face and enjoy looking back.. over the bay; the scenic view around; take in the big (hopefully BLUE) sky above. Really Nice!
Venture further, to the next little bay, 'Mother Ivey's' - go to the Padstow Lifeboat Station & slipway base here (open to visitors 10-4pm). Carry on up to the (now automated) Trevose Head Lighthouse - see the view down the coastline all the way to the Newquay beaches in the distance (15miles).
Explore the SEVEN local beaches along this scenic headland stretch of coast - "7 Bays for 7 Days" all are linked by the southwest way coastpath (plenty of good old fresh air and exercise to be had..with the odd stop off en route)
Or take the drive down the coast road ..visit Porthcothan beach & shop (carpark by the hour) ..onto National Trust shop & great cafe at Bedruthan Steps, half way to Newquay, for a proper cream tea.. and a good stroll with a great viewpoint to take in the 'Steps' (if you are fit and the tide is right, make it down to the beach - amazing!!
Go Fishing for your supper from the seashore or from the headlands - you could take an organised fishing trip from Padstow Harbour.
Go pony trekking in the Cornish countryside at Tresallyn stables, 2miles away.
Cycle the Camel Trail from Padstow along the route of the old railway line to the nearest popular town of Wadebridge down the Camel Estuary 7km. If you're up for it, venture further inland from there, through the wooded valley to Bodmin - and the Borough Arms pub toward the end of the line! or go on, go on..further yet to Wenford Bridge (not forgetting the return trip;) - you could, break it up, dip into Wadebridge for a look about.. have a leisurely picnic along the way.. go on a sidetrack and visit Bodmin Jail & the old Crown Courts! - you could 'be sensible' - & take in, one leg at a time..?!! :)
There's Crazy Golf tucked away in the cliffside, overlooking Padstow & the estuary! Take a nice walk further on from here over to the War Memorial and to the sandy St. George's cove & over to Crugmeer along the estuary.
Speed boat rides or longer boat trips out to look for dolphins, seals or puffins.. from Padstow Harbour.
The foot ferry boat crosses the estuary to Rock on the other side.. for sailing and watersports. And more walking, if you like - visit the tiny St. Enodoc Church in the sand dunes at Daymer Bay.. beside the renowned St. Enodoc golf course..
Not forgetting that very close to home is the: Trevose Golf Links at Constantine Bay - (a mile up the lane from Harlyn) with superb location & facilities - this Championship 18 hole course + two 9 hole courses; driving range; practice holes - well worth bringing a set of clubs with you! ..if, umm, space in the car allows!
..& yes, there is more :)
