Finally the private garden to the rear of The Chapel has a lovey recessed patio area, which is perfect for alfresco dining or just sitting enjoying the afternoon sunshine. There is also a hard surface play area to the front of Manston Court which is perfect for all the family to play ball games. And next to The Chapel are two one bedroom cottages (Annie's Cottage and Well Cottage which is all on one level), both are able to sleep up to 4 guests. Many guests hire all three for special occasion or a great holiday to remember.

The Chapel has again attained a Gold 4 Star rating from Quality in Tourism.

Location description from owner

The Isle of Thanet region

The village of Manston is situated at the edge of the town of Ramsgate in Kent. It is centrally located on the Isle of Thanet which is surround by coast. This part of the Kent coast is frequently sunny and seems to have its own weather system. Known for its lovely sandy beaches and historic coastal villages, Thanet is the perfect place for a relaxing sea side holiday, or an energetic sporting one, whether you prefer windsurfing, kayaking, jet skiing or just playing in the sand, we are also perfectly located for a day trip to London or France, or if you prefer to shop or explore closer to home, the historic cities of Canterbury, Dover and Folkestone are only a 30 to 45 minute drive away. And the lovely historic village of Sandwich - know for the Golf Open which is held there every 4 years, has lovely cobbled streets and pretty old fashioned shops which seem to have come out of the last century. The village of Wingham close by, many parts of which date back to the 13th Century, is also worth a visit with its characterful old fashioned pubs, hat shops, art galleries and cafes and churches. There are so many historic towns and villages only a short drive from Thanet, you will have to come back again and again to see them all.

Ramsgate

There are lots of free events during the year in Thanet, from Dickens Week in July and Folk Week in August both in Broadstairs, to international volley ball tournaments on the beach at Margate, just to mention a few. You can see exactly what's going on locally when you go to the Visit Thanet website. And for something quite spectacular you can even watch the Red Arrows do their air display at Margate from almost anywhere in Thanet, and if you don't see them you can certainly hear them! And you can take a closer look at the planes when they are parked at Manston Airport where they frequently practice before the event. Why not come and see for yourself.

Getting around

We are located in a semi-rural area close to the coast, but on a country road, so a car is really useful. We also have a lot of private off street parking, so if you want to bring more than one car it shouldn't be a problem. From the listing you will be able to see the local train stations of which there are 3, however Ramsgate is the easiest to get to and slightly closer than the others which are located at Broadstairs and Margate. The bus route through the village only runs about once an hour, however you are able to park for free at Westwood Cross which is only 1 1/2 miles away, and the other side of Westwood Cross is the bus station which has 'the loop' and will take you all over Thanet.

Interaction with guest

We live next to The Chapel and will be there to welcome you and show you around. Although we live next door we leave you to enjoy your stay, but we are there just incase you need to ask any questions, or run out of something which you need quickly, and if we have it you are more than welcome to it. We are happy to provide you with information about the local area, and give you suggestions as to what might be suitable for your group or family whether it is eating out, or a day out. There is a lot to do in the local area whatever age you are, and it is such a great location both summer and winter, we want you to get the most out of your stay with us, so please feel free to ask.

“Wonderful accommodation - would highly recommend!”

Reviewed 31 May 2013

My family and I stayed in The Chapel and Well Cottage and had a wonderful time. The cottages were lovely and had everything we needed. I would like to thank Suzanne for being so hospitable. She made sure every member of my family would be comfortable, from my 1 year old niece to my elderly uncle with limited mobility. The location was fantastic too with a Tesco nearby and with the beach a very short drive away. I would highly recommend these cottages and we are definitely going to come back for another holiday.
