“Lovely place!!!”

Reviewed 26 Jan 2018

My husband and I stayed here for a two night break on the recommendation of our son and daughter-in-law who are regular visitors. We can see why they like to come!!! The lodge is well equipped and nice and cosy and there is milk, tea, coffee and bread all provided (this is useful for feeding the resident ducks). More importantly you couldn't get nicer people than Gary and Una who can't do enough for you. We had really wet weather and managed to get our car stuck in the wet grass-Gary and Una even provide a towing service!!! We will definitely return maybe for longer next time.

Owner's reply: Thank you for your kind review and delighted you hope to return and stay with us again. Kind regards Gary&Una

“Absolutely brilliant definitely recommend”

Reviewed 7 Jan 2018

Just returned from a two night New Years stay at Ballyare Lodge. This place was brilliant and a perfect way end to a busy 2017. The three of us (two adults and a child) stayed in the smaller cabin which was fully equipped with Sky TV, WiFi, hot tub and two extremely comfy beds! Gary and Una were perfect hosts and nothing was too much trouble; even the offer to drive us to the local pub! They provided fresh bread and milk on our arrival. On entering the cabin it was immaculately presented with heating on and scented candle flickering away. The views were perfect and the lake was illuminated at night. My daughter had the opportunity to do some New Years Day fishing, Gary was more than happy to stand out in the rain helping her catch her first fish. I would highly recommend Ballyare Lodge, and we will be returning in the near future.

If you like trout fishing this for you. It is literally on your doorstep. Trout into double figures and many around 5-6 caught during our stay. The hot tub is brilliant to relax the muscles after flogging a fly all day. The cabin is more spacious than it looks and well equipped. The hosts are friendly, helpful and always on hand for local information. We have already booked for next year.

“Pure bliss!”

Reviewed 16 Jul 2017

The accommodation exceeded all our expectations and the setting was idyllic. We know this area and it was the perfect base for all the places we wanted to visit, especially Portsalon beach (Ballymastocker) which is only 20 minutes drive away. Our hosts Una and Gary gave us a great welcome and nothing was too much bother for them. The things that stood out were the beautiful lake setting, the peace and quiet and of course the hot tub which we used regularly, even in the rain. The cabin is fully equipt with everything you could need and it was great to have Sky TV in the evenings. All in all, one of our best ever holidays. We will go back next year!

Owner's reply: Thank you for the kind review and we are delighted you enjoyed your stay and will visit Ballyarelodge again. Gary&Una

“A Little Oasis”

Reviewed 7 Jul 2017

An absolute beautiful find. This little haven will appeal to avid fishermen and those who love peace and tranquillity. I loved having my coffee outside listening to and watching the ducks. Relaxing in the hot tub under the big blue sky was a treat. The lake is beautiful, especially at night when the lights come on. Una and Gary were both lovely, down to earth and very helpful. We hope to be back .
