Sleeps six in idyllic village just half an hour from the Med

Our well equipped house is in the heart of a very friendly wine making village. Its sunny south facing terrace is the ideal place for al fresco dining and enjoying the warm balmy South of France warmth long after the sun has gone down. The large comfortable lounge has British and French TV a wireless internet connection and books and DVD s and games to keep all of the family amused. The well equipped kitchen opens out onto the large tiled sunny terrace which also boasts an area of welcome shade. The utility area has a washing machine, iron, BBQ and all linen is included.

The village has its own shop which sells everything including freshly baked bread and croissants. The next village (3 kms) has a full selection of shops and bar cafe restaurant. Narbonne is a 15 minute drive away and a further 15 mins will have you bathing in the warm waters of the Mediterranean. You are spoiled for things to do and see from Cathar

“Excellent base for a fantastic holiday in the South of France”

Reviewed 18 Mar 2013

La maison du murier is very well equipped with everything that a discerning holiday maker needs. It felt as if we had been invited to a friend's home rather than renting a gite. The house is in a very quiet relaxing location. the village is completely surrounded by vines yet you can be in bustling Narbonne in less than 15 minutes and lying on the beach in half an hour. There was so much to see and do that we felt that we had only scratched the surface in the fortnight we were there. I guess we will need to go back to visit the Cathar castles and to visit Spain (which is only an hour away) and to revisit the "Sentier Sculpturel" which was a fantastic three hour walk punctuate by the most fantastic sculptures which appeared around every corner.
