COTTAGE DESCRIPTION

LA GRANGE - 3 bedrooms (sleeps from 2 to 6/7)

The cottage is spacious, light and airy, tastefully furnished with matching Ducal pine furniture throughout, offering 'home from home' comfort.

A well-equipped modern kitchen (with breakfast bar & stools) is 'open plan' facing on to the dining room. The dining area has a table and chairs to comfortably seat 6 adults. (An additional table and chairs are available for use in the other cottage, for larger groups renting both cottages, to enable everyone to dine together - up to 15)

An rendered archway leads through to a large lounge which has patio doors leading out onto the cottage terrace. The room is full of character with exposed wooden beams, earthenware floor tiles, a large raised granite stone fireplace (with wood burning stove) and quaint windows, with stonework surrounds.

The lounge provides a super space for all the family to relax in together, on comfy sofas and armchairs - with the added benefit of plenty of space for the children to play in on a wet day!

For entertainment there is a large flat screen TV (English & French channels available) plus DVD player (with free access to our extensive DVD library of 700+ titles); a HiFi stereo system (with selection of CDs); iPad docking station; selection of board games (all the usual favourites), puzzles and jigsaws. Plus a library of 200+ books (all genre including many children's authors)

On the ground floor there is a also a Utility Cupboard (with laundry facilities, iron & ironing board, cleaning materials and products, patio cushions etc.) plus a separate toilet (with wash basin).

Oak stairs (with banister and enclosed foot treads) lead up to the upper floor landing from the lounge.

Accessed off the upstairs landing, are three independent bedrooms and a family bathroom:

The master king-sized bedroom has en-suite facilities (shower, wash basin and toilet) and a large 'walk-in' wardrobe. There are two further twin bedrooms (each with 2 single beds). All the bedrooms are spacious and we have two cots available if required, plus an extra single bed which can be placed in one of the twin rooms.

If two double bedrooms are preferred (perhaps for two couples/families sharing the cottage), one of the twin bedrooms can be made up into a second double bedroom.

The upstairs twin bedrooms share a central family bathroom (with shower, wash basin & toilet)

In total the cottage has 3 spacious bedrooms (1 double and 2 twins), sleeping 6/7 comfortably + 2 cots.

Outside, the cottage has its own private terrace area with patio furniture.

“A lovely property in a wonderful setting with very accommodating patrons”

Reviewed 12 Sep 2012

An amazing property in a peaceful area of France with a wonderful swimming pool for my 3 yr old. The house itself was in very good order and the grounds just beautiful. Highly recommend it!

“The Perfect Christmas”

Reviewed 15 Apr 2012

We chose Le Helleguy as our Christmas destination having stayed elsewhere in the area the previous year. I cannot describe highly enough the quality of this accommodation or the hospitality of the owners. It truly was the perfect Christmas from the moment we arrived to find the cottage decorated for the season and the excellent kitchen stuffed with goodies and produce from the local area. The cottage itself is incredibly well appointed in every way and the location could not be any more peaceful. Relaxing in front of the roaring log burner enjoy fine food and wine made it a truly memorable experience. The owners even supplied us with a local turkey for our Christmas lunch. We are actually hoping to return again this year as we were made so welcome and loved the place so much. There are plenty of facilities for families staying there in the warmer months and lots to do in the local area.

“We WILL be back!”

Reviewed 13 Apr 2012

La Grange is a lovely property and Neil and Tricia were amazing hosts! The house is beautiful with every need thought of prior to our arrival. The refridgerator was stocked with all necessities including homemade jellies and breads, so no trip to the local market was ever needed. The home was impecible and had an abundance of space for our family of four. We travelled with my parents and 2 sisters, as well, who occupied La Chaumiere across the drive. That was also a beautiful property. Our 2 small children had plenty to do onsite with the grassy areas and 2 swingsets...not to mention Neil and Tricia's pup, Connie! It was a fabulous stay and we will be back! I highly recommend their properties!

“A tranquil haven with all the comforts of home and more!”

Le Helleguy is furnished and equipped to a very high standard, and we particularly enjoyed the complimentary welcome basket packed with quality French produce. The cottage is so cosy and it was great to have the log burning stove and large collection of dvd's available to keep us warm and entertained in the cold winter week that we stayed. Neil & Tricia have thought of everything and we will be back without a doubt!

“A lovely place to stay, good location, great for families and adults, well equipped, fanatsic pool.”

Reviewed 4 Sep 2011

We had a really good week in August 2011. The location is great for us with four young children. The cottages are really well equipped comfortable and very clean, we found the owners really helpful, and felt that we had they achieved the right balance between privavcy and helpful support. Their cottage is onsite. The pool is great, there are decent adult bikes, CD's books and games. the gardens are pretty and well maintained. We would gladly go there again.

“A beautiful and relaxing family friendly holiday”

Reviewed 25 Jul 2011

We cannot recommend La Grange highly enough, having now stayed four years on the trot it is testament to how well we rate it! We were a party of 4 adults and 2 children (2&4). The accommodation flows well, has all "mod cons" and is at a level of comfort that makes it home from home. The grounds are extensive, extremely well maintained and child friendly. A wonderful pool, swings, slide, space to kick a ball what more do you need. Neil and Tricia are amazing hosts. They cater for your every need in a very unassuming way that is warm and friendly. They are always smiling, which is infectious and they go that extra mile to make your stay extra special, even to the point of offering to babysit for us so that we could venture out one evening. We have had some fantastic times here, great memories that will stay with us all for a very long time. Wonderful!
