“Wonderful accommodation in sleepy Gozitan village”

Reviewed 25 Oct 2015

Our week in Kenneth's farmhouse was wonderful. It started with good directions and a very thorough introduction to the property from Kenneth. The house was spacious and well equipped and spending time by the lovely pool was the highlight (though in October the sun was almost gone from the poolside by 4pm). The house is located in a sleepy village but is only a 10 minute walk from some restaurants and mini-markets. The nearby Nadur (about 15 minutes walk) had a bit more going on including the famous Maxokk bakery. We walked to San Blas beach which was our favourite beach on Gozo and this took around 35-40 mins. All in all we highly recommend Gozo and Kenneth's property.

“Lovely Villa & Outstanding Pool”

Reviewed 21 Aug 2015

This is our 3rd holiday in Gozo. Dar tal - gene is a supurb villa with outstanding pool & outside space. With 3 children aged 6, 10 & 15 the pool was very good with it being so big & the jacuzzi was perfect to chill out in. From the moment we arrived it was relaxing with all the rooms being large there was plenty of space. The kitchen was very well equipped but we found the BBQ being used most of the time as it was superb - I want one! Kenneth was very friendly & was easy to get hold of to answer any queries. We hope to return next year as this holiday will be hard to beat! Thank you for a great holiday Kenneth.

“Lovely villa, ecellent outside space”

Reviewed 29 Jul 2015

Spacious house with good facilities, very clean, hosts welcoming and helpful, giid location..but the real selling point is the beautiful outside space.Pool large enough to swim to and fro rather than just dipping in, jacuzzi a nice bonus, lots of sunbeds and space so you could always find a spot in or out of the sun as require. Outdoor shower and toilet, comfy chaise longue by the pool, gas BBQ, pull over shade to ensure outdoor dining table could always be shaded...very well thought out. Only reason i didn't give an excellent rating was there are a few minor issues in house that could be addressed...poor draining of water from one of the showers, poor quality pillows, no pillow/mattress protectors..but the house was very clean and these things didn't spoil our stay. I would be happy to stay there again.

Owner's reply: Very glad that you enjoyed your stay at the property. We apologize for any inconvenience that may have been caused due to one of the showers. We shall have this seen to immediately. Had we been informed about this slight problem during your stay, we would have attended to and resolved. Mattress protectors are provided, however they are the light cotton fabric type as opposed to the heavy impermeable material ones. We use cotton mattress protectors as they are more appropriate for our hotter climate. Thank you for pointing out the lack of pillow protectors. We shall definitely provide these in the near future. Any inferior quality pillows shall also be replaced accordingly. Thank you for your constructive comments.

“Great villa, Great Location”

Reviewed 9 Jul 2015

We have just returned from our first visit to Gozo and we thoroughly enjoyed the villa and the island. Kenneth was very helpful with information about the villa and the surrounding attractions. The villa is a short walk from the village centre of Qala which had a very pleasant evening atmosphere and a range of good reasonably priced restaurants which we sampled. This is a real benefit in Gozo because I get the impression that many villas are not within walking distance of facilities. We were glad we hired a car, both for getting to the villa, sightseeing and shopping but you could manage without. The villa was very spacious, with good facilities and a particularly good pool which had the sun on it for most of the day. We are very likely to return.

“A great place to stay”

Reviewed 11 Aug 2013

A great place to stay. We were family of 5 and it was very good. Very children friendly, great swimming pool. Bus stop is just some 200m from property and bus is a great way to get around the island. The house is fully equipped, air conditioning is missing, but fans are inside every room and house itself is good ventilated. No windows to south or west, so perfect in hot summer months. House is just several hundred meters away from village center where you can find several bars (food is good there) also several small supermarkets are within walking range. Is a great place to stay.

“What a fabulous house”

Reviewed 10 Aug 2013

We had a wonderful, restful time at Dar tal-Gen. Kenneth was incredibly helpful with all sorts of information before we arrived, and even sorted out some groceries for us. The house is amazing, and in a very peaceful spot. The pool was perfect, and we spent a lot of time just lounging around by it. The people in the village of Qala were very friendly, and we enjoyed being involved in the festa. We managed to travel around for our two weeks using the local buses, which stopped not far from the house. It is very convenient for the number of excellent restaurants in the village. My kids think I am a genius for finding it!

“Amazing villa! Amazing town! Amazing Island!”

Reviewed 25 Jun 2013

My girlfriend and I stayed here for 4 days in June 2013 and had originally planned to head down to Valletta for the final 2 nights of our holiday... we ended up extending our stay an extra night as we just couldn't bear to leave this little oasis! The local town of Qala is probably the nicest, and most friendly, on the island of Gozo. There's a dive school nearby, some fantastic pubs and restaurants off the square (one has a live jazz night!) and the butcher at the local supermarket is INCREDIBLE value and quality for the BBQ.... Kenneth the owner is fantastic and always in touch giving you information, local tips and checking all is well for your stay. He's even recommended a return in October when the seas are still warming and cycling and rock climbing will be easier... definitely being considered! If you want a relaxing villa, in a quiet town, with the option to scuba dive, visit amazing coastlines and stunning towns then this is the place for you...! Car rental is just down the road for 25 Euros a day so it's the best way to get around to visit the amazing beaches and coves! I would happily recommend this villa to family and friends (and actually have done...) Thanks Kenneth and your amazing villa for a great stay!
