A beautiful listed thatched barn located it its own private secure garden in the the picture perfect hamlet of Putsborough (Manor) 400 m from Putsborough Sands and only 15 mins walk from Croyde. Located in an area of outstanding natural beauty a couple of minutes walk from the acclaimed blue flag Putsborough/Woolacombe beach (UK No 1 Beach 2015 as voted by Trip Advisor). There is a private footpath to the beach and use of a private tennis court.

The Barn is a thatched Grade II listed building with lots of character and some low beams in the bedrooms and bathrooms of 190cm, upstairs the roof height is 2.2m.

At Putsborough Manor we have two other luxurious cottages available (sleeping 4 & 8 people) more information, photos and offers available on our Putsborough Manor web site.

Putsborough is surrounded by National Trust land with breathtaking views and numerous walks, including the South West Coastal Path. The popular surfing meccas of Croyde and Saunton Sands are very close by and within a few minutes drive, there is a path to Croyde approx 3/4 mile. Woolacombe is also close by, either a couple of minutes drive or a leisurely walk along the beach.The barn has been fully and lovingly renovated for 2015 with limestone floors throughout and underfloor heating, the walls lime rendered, furnished and equipped with attention to detail and care. It has an open plan lounge and kitchen with large island for dining, two well appointed bedrooms one with a king size bed and ensuite bathroom which includes a shower and a indulgent spa bath and one with a zip and link super king Or two single beds and an ensuite bathroom with shower. Outdoors there is a small garden with private patio, table and chairs and bbq, and parking for two cars. Dogs are welcome (a small charge/restrictions apply please check).

Locally facilities include excellent golf courses, horse riding, boat/fishing hire, clay pigeon shooting at the renowned South West Shooting Club, Lundy Island ferry trips from Ilfracombe, several adventure/children parks nearby, and National Trust properties to visit. The beautiful and dramatic landscape of Exmoor is also close by. The coast line is rich in beautiful villages and towns to visit.You can also bring your horse on holiday with you, we have a secure paddock and water nearby, there are plenty of places to ride for example on Putsborough or Saunton beaches, on Exmoor or on the bridal paths next to the cottage.***3 BED STONE BUNGALOW SET IN THE SEPARATE WALLED GARDEN AND A 2 BED COTTAGE ALSO AVAILABLE TO RENT FOR FRIENDS OR RELATIVES****

Getting around

There is a bus to and from Croyde operated by Stagecoach in Barnstaple (more information on their website for routes and times). There are local taxis - information can be provided on request. We are on National Cycling Route 278, and we also have the Tarka Trail which is a lovely coastal route for bikes and walkers. Our local is rural and the majority of our guests bring a car.

Meet and greet on arrival (or key safe available if out of hours) Happy to provide any information required about the accommodation, things to do and places to visit, good places to eat etc either on arrival or by email in advance. The cottage has a folder with full information about the cottage, area, use of appliances etc.

“Great relaxing holiday”

Lovely place to stay, very peaceful and relaxing. Perfect size for 2 adults and 2 dogs, lovely decor and very cosy. Lovely quiet beaches long walks. Would highly recommend.
