The property situated in Punta Mujeres is ideal for people from all walks of life. It has the character of a traditional Lanzarote property and the views are breathtaking. It is a charming village with a superb local atmosphere. Fishing, sunbathing and swimming are just outside the front door. If you choose to stay in Punta Mujeres you'll never have far to go from the villa in order to spend each day on a unique beach, although many people prefer to explore the more rugged areas of coastline where tranquil coves and natural pools provide the kind of environment that is perfect for a truly romantic holiday. Within a 5 minute walk there are local bars and restaurants which cater for all tastes and budgets. The local bar is especially 'Canarian' where you can sit by the sea front with a beer or glass of wine for a euro or 2 and a choice of tapas for 2 or 3 euros. There are a number of mini markets, shops, take away cafes, and of course restaurants.

If you fancy a day out the towns of Hariia and Teguise are nearby and are the capitals of the local municipalities. They are very interesting and Canarian. The drive from Punta Mujeres to Haria and Teguise is magnificent.

Most water sports can be partaken in Punta Mujeres or nearby. Surfing is popular in neighbouring Arrieta. Swimming, snorkelling, fishing, are just outside the door. Walking and cycling are very popular as the local terrain is flat.

The lounge furniture is new and modern. The television is set up for terrestrial and satellite. There is also a DVD player. We also have a stereo unit with CD player. The telephone and internet is near the dining table which can also be used as a desk. The lounge is open plan and leads into the kitchen which is new and completely fitted. You have dishes, pans, cutlery, toaster, kettle, oven and hob, fridge freezer etc. There is plenty of cupboard space. The kitchen leads into a small hall for the main bedroom (br1) and bathroom.

Bedrooms: The main bedroom on the left has a queen size bed and large wardrobe. The one on the right which is off the main hallway has 2 single beds and also has an en-suite bathroom .The kitchen is fully equipped with glasses, dishes, pans, small fridge, etc.

Further details indoors

Property was exceptionally well presented. The owners were on hand to make sure everything was to our satisfaction...which it unreservedly was. For us the location was perfect with stunning sea views through the French doors and from the roof top sun terrace. Loved sitting by the balcony in the evening with a glass of wine or malt and watch the waves pounding into the little cove. From behind the property you climb down a handful of steps and when tide is in you can be swimming safely in sea....great for snorkelling. Although we speak minimal Spanish we were made to feel very welcome in all the local hostelries where you could eat and drink for very reasonable prices compared to the 'built up tourist areas. Great location for exploring the remainder of the island but for us most of the scenic areas were within 20 mins drive. Some lovely secluded golden sand beaches intermingled with the black volcanic lava. Handy to have a car but if you want to switch off and totally chill out its worth arranging a local transfer or even a taxi...cost not prohibitive. The supermarket at the filling station in Arrieta...about 1km down the flat road...is well stocked at very reasonable prices. We would have no hesitation recommending this property for anyone looking for a peaceful away from it all holiday.

Further details outdoors

The apartment is situated directly on the coastline and has a small beach just outside the property which is ideal for swimming, snorkling, sun bathing or just sitting quietly with a book or having a bite to eat. There is a short walk to the local bar which sits right on the water with table and chairs. All along the coast there are man made sea pools which fill with the tide and are ideal swimming areas.

Outside the apartment are table and chairs. We also have lungers for use outside the apartment.

Location description from owner

The Canary Islands region

Lanzarote is situated just 79 miles off the coast of Africa and is the most easterly of the Canary Islands. The island is 37 miles (60km) long and 12 miles (20 km) wide, making it the fourth largest island in the Canaries.
Lanzarote enjoys a mild dry climate with average daytime temperatures ranging from about 21°C in January to 29°C in August. Annual rainfall is just 140mm (5.5 inches). This makes Lanzarote the perfect year-round destination.

As with the other Canary Islands, Lanzarote is Volcanic in origin. Due to the recent eruptions during the 18th and 19th Centuries, many parts of Lanzarote appear to be from another world, often described as 'lunar' or 'Martian'.
The dry climate (and lack of erosion) means that the Volcanic Landscape appears much as it did just after the eruptions.

Amongst the many stunning Volcanic features of Lanzarote is the longest Volcanic Tunnel in the world, the Atlantida Tunnel, which is over 7 km long and includes the La Cueva de los Verdes and Jameos del Agua.

Punta Mujeres

The village of Punta Mujeres is located on the north-east coastline of Lanzarote adjacent to Arrieta. The property is situated on the seafront which is just a few metres from the door. The streets and paths hug the coastline so you are never far from the water. A variety of beaches and sea pools are scattered throughout the village. Lanzarote is a small but beautiful varied island with volcanic black or white sandy beaches and breathtaking views. Along the nearby coasts are numerous beaches, sand dunes, the port of Orzola, and volcanic rock waterfronts. The tourist attractions of Jameos del Agua, Mirador del Rio, Cuevas de los Verdes, the Cactus Gardens of Guatiza, and palm trees of Haria are only a few miles away. Further afield there are the main tourist resorts of Costa Teguise and Puerto del Carmen, the capital city, Arrecife, wine fields of La Geria, Timanfaya volcano and the creative works of Cesar Manrique. There is magnificent varied land scape through the island.

“Charms of Casa Neptuno”

Reviewed 2 Nov 2012

I was lucky enough to select Casa Neptune as a base for our stay in Arrieta, Lanzarote, after looking online at other properties. It turned out to be very happy choice. I am a fairly fit and healthy 67 year old divorced woman, on holiday with my 38 year old son, who likes parties and music etc, but who was very pleased to spend time in this peaceful and pretty village. If you are looking for the amenities and facilities of the larger resorts on this lovely island, please do not read on. The apartment is faultless. It is exactly as described by the owners on the website. So I'm not going to repeat all that, but just add our impressions. Doug and Diana have created a perfect and relaxing environment in this delightful little village, where the local people are friendly, gentle and helpful, and the sound of the sea is never far away. In Casa Neptune it is ever present. We found the roof terrace a wonderful place to "chill" . at the times when we weren't on the beach or doing other things. However, if you're not in the first floor apartment, you can sit out and enjoy the the ambience in front of the ground floor, just like all the locals do, including Doug and Diana. I really enjoyed swimming in the " sea pools" but you must watch the tides and see what the locals are doing. You must get some suitable foot gear - I found this really helpful even on the beaches which can be unpredictably rough and pebbly underfoot. Ok, I realise I should write more about the apartment. I assume that you are not going to book without looking at website photos, and all I can say is that we were not disappointed. Everthing was tasteful, well thought out, with the needs of holiday makers fully catered for In fact I would have lived there for ever... if I could! Lovely views, and the little sea pool just steps away.Lovely comfotablr beds and sofas, where you (too quiet for some?) but it certainly met our requirements. There are at least two very well stocked mini markets . If you want fresh croissants, get to the little supermarket near Palenke EARLY! Eating out in the evening seems to take place earlier than in other parts of Spain. In Punta Mujeres,Palenke seems to stay open later and is excellent, very friendly. Arrieta has a wider choice of eating places, but again not very late. The beach restaurants at Arrieta are excellent for everything.. but again just daytime. So just be sure you have the makings of a meal at home.. just in case! The little burger/pizza/ snack places are good and cheap and friendly and open longer hours... but not very late. And remember that a few places don't open at all on Mondays. I hope you have as lovely a holiday as we did. Thank you too Doug and Diana, Arrieta, and Lanzarote I would be happy to communicate with anyone interested
