TENERIFE is one of 7 Canary islands situated just off the NW Coast of AFRICA. It is known for its steady warm mostly SUNNY climate (avge 20 - 27 Celcius) generaly throughout the entire year

TENERIFE has something for everyone to enjoy - children, adults and seniors alike can enjoy its many attractions including: El Teide volcano with its excellent visitors' facilities, zoo/ theme parks ( 'Loro Parque' in Puerto de La Cruz), aqua theme parks (eg.AquaPark, Playa de Las Americas) , ponies & horseback riding, Camel Park (Arona-for details see url: camelparktenerife. com) ...

NORTH vs SOUTH of ISLAND : the south of the Island is very different from the northern part...The former is generally flat & sandy arid with beaches aplenty (starting south & travelling clock-wise west bound) Los Cristianos, Playa de las Americas, Adeje, Playa San Juan, Playa de la Arena, Puerto Santiago, Los Gigantes...it's the SUNNY half of the island..IN contrast the north half of the island (with capital Santa Cruz and Puerto de La Cruz) is on higher altitude, cooler & green with an often exotic vegetation...it is not uncommon for it to be a cool sometimes wet in the north of the island , yet dry, warm & sunny in the south!

Puerto de Santiago

PUERTO SANTIAGOhas a relaxed laid back atmosphere with many people returning year after year. It has fair range of restaurants, some of which are excellent left as you enter Puerto Santiago from (north exit) cafes plus - on the convenience side - a good scattering of mini-supermarkets and ON BEACH restaurants. it is home to 'PLAYA DE ARENA( 'Sandy Beach') a- perpetually Blue Flag-award-winning BEACH - dark sands plus aesthetically appealing, palm tree-lined walkways....

LOS GIGANTES (within walking distance) is smaller but no less enchanting, and the gateway between these two places makes for the best WALKWAYS you will find on the island! - Great for walking enthusiasts! Gigantes has a charming harbour lined with cafes and some restaurants, beautiful, peaceful and ROMANTIC esp. for afternoons & early evenings...simply STUNNING! it also has a good variety of of restaurants, German tea shop (home-made cakes), boutiques, gardens, giftshops plus a not-to-be missed OPEN AIR SWIMMING POOL COMPLEX, next to the sea!

TAMAIMO is a STUNNING mountain village, quietish, with a sprinkling of shops, a chemist, a few minmarkets plus a supermarket with daily supplies of fresh produce...i.e FRUITS, VEGETABLES, BREADS, PASTRIES..

“Nice place to stay off the beaten track”

Reviewed 30 Oct 2012

This apartment is a great value if you are looking for a quiet, clean and well-maintained place to stay while touring Tenerife. The small town of Tamaimo is very different from the bustling beach resorts but has all the necessities (supermarket, pharmacy, restaurants and cafes). Not a typical Tenerife experience but that was what we liked about it. The owner and property manager were very helpful. The only problem was that the internet access (via a USB dongle) did not work during our visit. However, this was a minor issue as there was a cafe in town with free Wi-Fi.

Owner's reply: Thanking you kindly for your comments. We think we have now solved the issue of internet access with a much more reliable (renteable) gadget!! Best wishes to you & your lady wife

“Superb Holiday in a great place.”

Reviewed 31 May 2012

I have stayed in Tamaimo in a good size 2 bedroom flat with my husband and daughter. The flat was very clean, and there was everything I needed . There was a big balcony with a brilliant view of the ocean. We have rented a car for a good price so we could move around easily and see all the beautiful landscapes. There is a lot of places i would recommend going to for example: Masca, Los Gigantes, Los Cristianos, El Teide and many more :) A big Thank you from us to Cintia for having a great holiday, and we can't wait to go there again.

“Peace and Quiet, and fresh mountain air.”

Cintia has a lovely appartment in Tamaimo, and the only real problem was a shower door in the on suite that wouldn't open to accomodate anyone that isn't very skinny! She has promised to get it fixed. The apartment has a small unfinished building projekt in front, but the views down to the sea and up to the surrounding mountains are wonderful. Tamaimo is a place to go, away from the madding crowds, but do rent a car, its 15min to lovely beaches and restaurents etc.and there is so much to see. For the golfers, there is no problem for taking your bags, there is a lift and space to store it. We has a very enjoyable holiday and thank Cintia and Roberto for their help and information. PS The flat is ideal for family with children, but not in our opinion for two couples.

Owner's reply: Thankyou for that, I am so glad you enjoyed your time there:-) Please feel free to regard it as your winter sun-break home at any time you so wish!
