The main Puerto Pollensa beach and the nearest supermarket, bar and restaurant are all within 200 yards.

The apartment comprises 3 double bedrooms (each with twin beds), two bathrooms and a large open plan lounge/dining area with a flat screen TV with English free view channels. The newly refurbished spacious fitted kitchen includes: washing machine, tumble drier, hob and oven, microwave, fridge freezer and dishwasher. The apartment is fully air conditioned. Safe available.

The Balearic Islands region

Majorca is located in the Mediterranean Sea and is part of the Balearic Islands archipelago. The name derives from Latin insula maior, "larger island"; later Maiorica. It has a population of around 700000 half of whom live in the capital Palma which is a vibrant modern city combining historic buildings with a passion for Art and Architecture.

Palma is also the capital of the autonomous community of the Balearic Islands.

Like the other Balearic Islands Majorca is a popular tourist destination with a Mediterranean climate of mild winters and hot bright summers.

The north east has some of Majorca's best beaches along with a trio of historic towns and a coastline dominated by the bay of Alcudia. The region is perhaps Majorca's most diverse with well preserved Roman ruins, caves and a bird watcher's paradise at Parc Natural de S'Albufera.

Port de Pollenca

The bay of Pollensa is home to a multitude of luxury yachts, as well as a mixture of colourful local fishing boats which sadly in recent years are now in the minority. There are a number of small natural beaches in the area, as well as the recently extended artificial one, all offering the usual selection of facilities and water sports. Although, the warm shallow waters of the bay do make it especially popular with families with small children.

During the summer months, there is always a good selection of shops, bars and pavement cafes to choose from, although towards the end of October a number of these do close until around Easter time the following year, when the visitors begin to return to the island. Tthe resort boasts several high class fish restaurants, which are claimed to be the best on the island.

Without a doubt the main feature of the resort is the dramatic Sierra de Tramuntana mountain range that surrounds and shelters the town. For the more active, there are numerous walks into these hills from where the views back over the bay are stunning. A word of warning though, before you venture into the mountains be sure to take a local guide book with you which documents the walks, and tells you everything you need to know.

Tourists have been coming to Puerto Pollensa since the 1920's, and the hotels on the sea front still retain an old fashioned air, having been built long before the concrete boom of the 1960's developments. During the summer months the town attracts mainly British families looking for something more than the hussle and bussle of the popular south coast resorts. However, once the families have left from October onwards, the resort then becomes very popular with middle aged couples who are able to take advantage of extended stays, escaping from the cold British winters.

Evening entertainment here is mainly hotel based, although the resort does have one very well established disco called Chivas which first opened it doors 1969, but don't expect to find loud music and non stop karaoke bars.

“Great location, nice size apartment and pool, helpful extras”

Right from the moment we booked the apartment we had great customer service. The property owner lives in UK and Sam the lady who meets you at the apartment is british but has been resident in the resort for 20 years so knows lots of handy tips.There are two great restaurants on the doorstep that cater well for adults and children. (ours 12yo boys and 15yo girls). Nice pool which kids loved, beach very close and the apartment had own beach loungers so no need to hire on beach. The location is a bit outside the main resort centre but a nice walk or if have a car a 5 minute drive.There is a bus that stops nearby if wanted to leave car at apartment. The apartment doesn't have WiFi installed but the alternative suggested by the owner worked well for us - better reception than at home!
