There are 2 large terraces, both leading off the lounge, both very private and providing fabulous views of olive groves and mountains. Breathtaking. The villa is situated in a quiet urbanization with private parking. The pool terrace has a gazeebo, dining table seating up to 10 and a rattan suite...sofa, 2 chairs and coffee table and a shaded area with table and chairs. The 2nd terrace has a glass top table, 4 chairs and an awning. There is an abundance of spare chairs (trust me).
The Andalucia region
Granada used to be the capital of the last Muslim kingdom in the Iberian Peninsula, the Hispano - Muslim civilization lasting for eight centuries and as such as a unique architecture. You can visit the Alhambra palace. The city is also terrific for shopping and relaxing in the many piazzas which have fantastic cafes and restaurants.
A half hour drive from Granada city you will find the Sierra Nevada ski resort and mountain range. Spring and Autumn are ideal for walking/hiking or trekking and it is a well established ski resort for the winter months. The temperature in this area rarely falls below 12 degrees with midday summer temperatures rising well above 30.
The "San Valentin" is situated approx. 20k from Granada which is a vibrant, cosmopolitan city housing the famous Alhambra Palace and a beautiful cathedral. There are many other wonderful sites, often best viewed for the first time from the open top bus which runs every 20mins. or so affording information from the earphones which are provided by the conductor. The trip is a consecutive 2 day event so one day travelling on the bus marking special ports of call and the second day planning your specially selected sites which you best feel will fulfil you and your family's needs.
In the opposite direction from Granada just a short 15min drive is the town of Alcala la real. This has a very famous castle which you can see for miles around and is open for viewing at specific times of the day. The town hosts many restaurants, shops and a beautiful park in the centre with 2 cafes. One of these serves churros, a local breakfast. This and a cup of coffee or hot chocolate works out at approx. 2 euros per person.
Another popular breakfast are tostodas with tomato & olive oil or butter & jam.
The churros cafe opens until 12.30pm but the next door cafe is open all day and you can also get a nice lunch or dinner.
There is a large underground car park & super open market, very large, every Tuesday morning.
There will be a folder with local information for you in the villa, and pages dedicated to where restaurants can be found, places of interest which can be visited together with comments and directions. Also in the folder will be directions for local supermarkets and places of interest in Granada.

"Beautiful but isolated"
This is the fifth villa rental we have done in mainland Spain. We generally book somewhere away from the busy costa so we are used to travelling a bit to get to where we are staying. This villa was by far the most isolated. The surrounding area and the views from the beautiful terrace were second to none but I would advise against this villa for teenagers. It would not have been possible to walk to the nearest bar/restaurant and the closest towns/villages had no activities which was surprising considering the mountains and rivers available. On a plus note the villa is spotlessly clean and Christine is close by and very helpful if you have any questions/problems. If you want total r elaxation peace and quite and a lovely pool this is the place for you. On a practical note the road to the villa is your usual Spanish off road standard and I would agree with a previous reviewer who suggested a good standard of car. The villa is approx 25 mins from granada. I have said no to recommending the villa but that is because it not suitable for my friends and no reflection on the villa.

We have had a great stay at villa at Montesol. The location was ideal in terms of convenience of access to many attractions whilst allowing us to sample the blissful Andalucian country life. Granada and the Sierra Nevada are very close and Cordoba within reach in a day excursion. The hospitality and welcome of the owners have made our stay very enjoyable as did the delightful nearby villages. The villa offered all the conveniences needed for our stay. We would certainly be planning another visit.

"Lovely villa in a gorgeous location."
The house has everything you need. The pool is lovely with stunning views over the hills and olive groves. We were looking for a quiet rural location and it was spot on. Granada is well worth a visit and we also did the scenic drive through the Sierra Nevada which is beautiful. I would recommend this villa for an away from it all break as we really enjoyed our time there.

"lovely villa with amazing scenery"
We had a truly fantastic stay at this villa, christine the owner was so accomodating and gave us lots of helpful tips when visiting neighbouring towns etc. The nearby town of Al Cal Real has lots of shops and a really good market on Tuesdays and only takes about 15 minutes to get there, great bargains !! Although the villa is a little remote experiencing the views from the balcony and enjoying the generous sized pool make the journey to it worthwhile.

"Lovely villa with a stunning view"
I statyed at this villa in July and the pool was much needed to cool down. The views are fantastic, and we enjoyed sipping wing on the balcony overlooking the view of the olive trees and hills. The area is so peaceful and relaxing, and the villa clean and spacious. If you want a quiet and restful break I definitely recommend and the Alahmbra Palace is only about an hours drive away and well worth the visit. The only downfall I give to the location of this villa is the lumpy bumpy road leading up to it. Our hire car wasn't very powerful so we chugged with effort up the hill to it. Consider a bigger engine and you definitely need a car to reach it.

"Beautiful location, comfortable villa with everything for a great holiday"
The villa is located in a vert beautiful part of spain with the most amzing view from the villa. We absolutely loved stayed here a great place to explore with access to Granada and the coast. Although we spent much of our time locally and by the pool. Christine the owner is such a wonderful lady and went out of her way to make sure we had everything we wanted. the villa is very comfortable and has allvthe ingredients for a perfect family holiday. The front terrace with the spectacular view which we loved waking up to and the pool which was meticiously cleaned throughout our visit were our best bits! Highly recommend staying here.
