Location description from owner

The Canary Islands region

Lanzarote is pure geology, underwater and moon like sites, crystal clear waters, thirsty lands, palms' oasis, it is harmonic life of man and nature. Undoubtedly a land of contrasts. It is the easternmost island of the Canary Islands, it is identified by the great amount of volcanoes that cover it due to the great volcanic activity of the early XVIII century. An eternal spring, the average annual temperature is 22 º C with very low rainfall and long hours of sunshine. The sea in Lanzarote, usually quiet and friendly, invites you to enjoy the many beaches that dot its coastline as the annual average water temperature is around 19.5 º C, but also offer other opportunities for enjoyment, through water sports or boat trips. The island offers you a lot of things to do, to see and to feel.

Puerto Del Carmen

Puerto del Carmen has more than 6 km of winds protected beaches; (Playa Grande, Los Pocillos y Matagorda). and the complete surrounding of services, shopping centres and about everything you can imagine. Along the extensive promenade, the Avenida Maritima, you will find a wide range of restaurants, commercial stores, bars, pubs and discos. Apart from the nightlife, Puerto del Carmen offers a wide range of sport acitivities such as: Windsurfing-& surf classes, excursions, game fishing, diving classes, waverunner & quad rental, a go cart course and much more. You can go walking to the Biosfera Shopping Center, where you can find shops like Zara, Beshka or Nature. In my opinion the best Restaurants nearby are: Nippon with an incredible Japonesse food;Las Arenas that offers haute cuisine within the residential area of Los Mojones; Puerto Bahia with very nice sea views offers great rice, fish and seafood dishes, El Bodegon if you prefer good tapas and beef and Emma´s Cantina Mexicana. After that we enjoy Heineken bar terrace or the Irish live music bar.

“Secluded haven in a quiet location.”

Reviewed 27 Jul 2013

The villa lived up to all our expectations, very comfortable and quiet with everything you need to enjoy your stay. Our stay was made even better by Arancha (the owner) who was very helpful and welcoming. We would highly recommend Villa Marisol, we will definitely return. It's located in the quiet area of Lis Mojones but only and 10 minute walk to the old town.

“Fantastic holiday”

Reviewed 9 Sep 2012

Returned from a two week holiday at Vila Marisol on the 26th of August. This was one of the cleanest and best equipped vilas we have stayed in over the last 9 years. The outside areas were beautiful and well maintained, the pool was very good and cleaned on a regular basis. The vilas owner ( Arancha ) waiting for us to arrive late on the first night (10pm) she showed us around and gave us the groceries that we had asked her to buy for us due to our late arrival, she bought bread, cheese, water ,milk, and 2 bottles of wine, when I asked for the bill she refused payment, she was on had at all times throughout the holiday in case we had any problems, the only issue we had was with the wifi which was rectified when we reported it. There is air con in the bedrooms which you have to pay locally through a meter, Arancha had put enough money in to last the first week (again at her own expense). The Vla is located at the top end of Los Majones and is a bit of a trek back from the main areas, it is set in a very quiet area and is totall secluded from public view. A fantastic holiday due mainly to this lovely Vila.

“Villa Marisol's facilities exist purely on the internet but not in reality”

Reviewed 2 Aug 2012

I booked Villa Marisol in Puerto del Carmen, Lanzarote for a week's holiday for myself and my 17 year old granddaughter. I was particularly attracted to Villa Marisol because of the advertised wifi, dvd player, games room , pool table and a roof terrace; my thinking being that these facilities would go a long way in entertaining a teenager. How wrong could I have been: the wifi, games room, pool table and roof terrace did not exist - even the advertised hairdryer was missing. I had also expected a welcome pack, as is standard in most holiday villas, especially as we arrived at 10:30pm but there was not even a single tea bag so we could make a cup of tea in the morning. In fact, the villa itself was very sparsely furnished with basic Ikea: neither comfortable nor luxurious, which was disappointing considering the price of the rental. Other than the small swimming pool there was very little to do as there were no books, dvds, magazines, board games or even a deck of cards for entertainment. I appreciate that these things are not obligatory for an owner to provide but there was absolutely nothing which is unbelievable in a supposed luxury holiday rental. I contacted the owner, Arancha Carmona Schmolling, on several occasions regarding the misleading advert but she was most unhelpful ; initially blaming Holiday Lettings and then accusing me of being “confused”. I am not confused just annoyed at being ripped off. She finally agreed to supply wifi and someone came with a passcode but it was not possible to get any connection at all. The owner eventually offered a ten percent refund of the rental, which was pretty poor considering that none of the advertised facilities actually existed. Finally, to add insult to injury, I received an email from her entitled “Farewell” in which she stated “I am not going to feel guilty for your confusion. So we should not waste our time with this anymore- Life is short, smile, be happy !!!!!” Easy to do when you’ve misled someone into parting with 1030 euros for something that doesn’t exist. Please note that this owner is still advertising the villa as having all the facilities – misleading and dishonest.

I apologize for my mistake, I do not have a pool table (I got confuse with the swiming pool). I have at the house what you can see in the pictures. I have a solarium but not a roof terrace and the games room is in the other house- Villa Ariana. I have a DVD player but not DVD disk, you have to bring your own DVD´s. I have a hairdryer but in that time was broken so I had to repalced it for a new one. I have ADSL service, sometimes we have to call Telefonica when it doesn´t work and they mended it. Please when something is broken or missing let me know, sometimes the electric device must be change like the hairdryer. I want the people to be happy in my house so if I can help you I will do it when it is possible.

“Exceptionally clean, modern and secluded well maintained garden”

Reviewed 8 Feb 2012

Villa Marisol is located in a quiet residential area of Los Mojones. Suitably away from the bustle of the main town but within walking distance of restaurants and bars. Having visited the island for the last 15 years we have stayed in a number of apartments and villas in Puerto del Carmen and found villa Marisol to be one of the nicest. The villa is compact and is perfect for 1 or 2 couples as both bedrooms have en suites. The villa is exceptionally clean, has a mid week towel change/clean and a welcome pack on arrival which was greatly appreciated. Inside has modern furnishings. The garden is totally secluded, very well layed out and maintained. I would definately recommend this villa to a friend and am hoping to visit again. The only thing that I could say to improve the villa was that we went in November and had a particularly cold week (unusual for lanzarote) and although the bedrooms had units capable for heating they were only activated for air conditioning not heat. This however is normal for Lanzarote villas as heating is not normally needed !!!!

Thank you for your nice review, I am glad that you liked the house. I apologise because I didn´t realize it was cold at night when you came, I would brought you the heaters and covers that I have bring. Please next time that you need anything call me, I will be happy to help you.
