Getting around

Slip on some sandals and head out along the boardwalk which is just a few minutes stroll from the villa gates. You can get to the Blue Flag beaches without having to cross any roads either through a private walkway or else via a cafe lined avenue. Protoras is a 20 minute walk and is also served by a free LIDL shuttle which departs every 30 minutes from the Windmills hotel at the end of the street (operating hours are 9am-1pm and 3pm-6.30pm). A taxi rank is nearby for the Ayia Napa water-parks and marina. If you want to visit the North, local taxis (and a red bus tour) are at the end of the road - also try the day trip boats out of the harbour (5 minute walk). Hiring a car can is not necessary unless you want to do a Grand Tour of Cyprus!

Interaction with guest

We respond quickly to enquiries and specialise in dealing with young families. On booking you will be sent a link to an extensive villa and local area guide covering transfers, car hire, medical amenities, food and beverage, things to do, exploring the North of the Island and more. Our local managers can arrange transfers any-time, day or night. Late checkouts are no issue (as long as we've not already got a follow on booking). The villa is prepared for your arrival with a welcome pack, and we can put up stairgates and a cot on request. Access on arrival is as simple as entering a code we provide when you've completed the booking process.

“Lovely, well equipped villa in a great location.”

Reviewed 28 Oct 2017

We booked for a week over the October half term holidays but had booked flights with Monarch, so unfortunately lost those at the start of the month. We ended up having to fly out a day earlier and Jason and Isobel were so lovely to let us stay the extra night at no charge when I was stressed trying to find alternative flights. Communication was always great and they are very accommodating and helpful owners. The villa itself is in a super location, close enough to walk to the shops, the beach (great grilled corn!) and restaurants (including Trip Advisor favourite La Cultura del Gusto) and a short drive from Protaras. The complex was quiet when we stayed and it felt very safe. We drove to Konnos Bay instead of going to the busier Fig Tree Bay and I’d recommend it to anyone, it’s a beautiful beach. We’ve stayed in lots of villas and I can’t say that Villa 5 lacked anything in particular. The little things that other villas don’t always provide like bin bags, Tupperware and ice packs that we made use of to take sandwiches to the beach and the welcome pack made a big difference and you could see that the owners really consider their guests’ comfort. The villa is very kiddie friendly, mine loved all the pool toys and my teenage son made use of the PlayStation at nights. We had an issue with the shower door one day and it was fixed that day. We wouldn’t hesitate to book this villa again if we want to visit the North of the island again in the future.

Owner's reply: Thank you so much for your kind review. It's great to hear we're getting the details right!

“Fabulous stay”

Reviewed 21 Aug 2017

We have just returned home from a fabulous stay at Villa no 5. The villa is located right near the beach and bars and restaurants but we did venture into protaras every other night as there is more choice. We walked it once, it took about 45 minutes with the children so it was easier to get a cab (about €9 each way) The villa is well equipped for children, cot bed, high chair and stair gates all at no extra cost. My older children enjoyed playing the board games when wanting to get out of the sun and were happy with the wifi. Would highly recommend this villa and we hope to return. Thank you Jason and Isobel

Owner's reply: Thank you for your lovely review Sarah, we hope to welcome you back soon!

“5* Star”

Reviewed 18 Aug 2016

Thank you Jason & Isobel for renting us your villa. The villa is in a quiet cul de sac with everything on your doorstep, Villa is well equipped with everything that is stated in the description I can not think of one thing that wasn't available. I stayed with my 3 children aged 16,18 & 23 and also my daughters Fiance. I don't cook on holiday but if I wanted to there was ample choices of pots and pans, microwave, toaster, plates and cutlery oh yes and a good old barbie literally felt like home from home. There is a seating area outside with an umbrella where I could sit and have my morning coffee with my croissants and a separate area with sun loungers on the decking at the rear of the villa for soaking up the rays. The pool man came as promised to clean the pool. It can get a bit breezy at times so we bought a fishing net to fish the odd leaf that blew into the pool. There is a supermarket literally on your doorstep and plenty of other shops, ice cream parlours, restaurants and bars etc just round the corner on the Pernera strip. There is also a beach literally 5 minutes walk from the Villa (10 in the blazing sun in August). Protaras is 5 minutes in a taxi don't know about walking along the broad walk as only done this once and decided a taxi was a better option, there are plenty of shops and restaurants from Greek, Japanese, Mexican, Indian, Italian not forgetting a couple of fast food restaurants well known back home in the U.K. also lots of bars and pubs. My young adults were entertained playing scrabble and Cluedo one of the many board games available at the Villa not forgetting the unlimited wifi as they can not bear to be parted from social media. Despite not traveling with any young children this Villa is also well equipped for family's with young children providing a travel cot, high chair, stair gates, toys etc. There were a few things that we didn't use i.e. watching tv, playing the game consoles, using the house phone etc. but the fact that they were available was comforting. The pack that Jason and Isobel provide gives you lots of information on what's available in the Pernera area and surrounding areas for those who want to travel further afield. We visited Ayia Napa twice taking the bus around the corner from the Villa. This is the first Villa I have stayed in as I usually rent 5* apartments. I can truly say that this Villa has not disappointed and has set a high standard for our future ventures.

Owner's reply: We are delighted you and the young adults enjoyed tge villa and surrounds, thank you for choosing Villa5.

“Brilliant! even better than expected”

Reviewed 2 Jan 2012

We usually go to Paphos so this was a departure for us. We were pleasantly surprised! The villa is an hour from Larnaca airport, we rented a car but this was costly since we did not use it much - there was too much to do near the villa. Perhaps I should keep it secret but I'd recommend this villa. It's very close to the sea but well positioned for supermarkets and lots of great bars and restaurants in Pernera. Some friends visited us from another villa - they were green with envy, this villa is stuffed with goodies. The night life is great, I recommend the Windmill bar or Knights pub opposite - especially on Karaoke night. Ayia Napa is 10 minutes away in a cab and worth a visit. I'd also recommend the glass bottom boat from the local beach. Next time we'll try the waterparks and diving. Two thumbs up!

Owner's reply: You were wonderful guests! Thanks so much for your review. Tip for next time: if you liked the glass bottom boat, there's also a fab "pirates of the caribbean" boat trip on a boat made up like the one in the movie too now.
