“Beautiful cottage”

Reviewed 26 Feb 2017

My friends and I stayed at the cottage for our birthday break in Feb. The cottage has everything you need, tea, coffee, quality cooking appliances, crockery and glassware. cleaning products, hand soap, towels etc are so supplied. The cottage is built to a high spec, shower is lovely and hot. The heating was on when we arrived which was lovely. There is a log burner too which we lit. The hot tub is an added bonus and it's under a canopy so you are sheltered from the rain. There is a little gated lake opposite with a cute picnic bench on a jetty, it would be nice to sit there with the children and have lunch in the summer. There are sheep in the field and horses in the nearby stable. Very picturesque. There is a nice pub in the local village of Inglewhite, called The Green Man, which serves good food. The cheese and onion pie is highly recommended! There are some good local walks and maps in the cottage, sadly the weather put a damper on our walking wishes so we stayed in the hot tub! The owners are very helpful and friendly. The booking process was easy and efficient. A beautiful place, an easy 5

“Heaven”

Reviewed 7 Jan 2017

My partner and I stayed here through Christmas Eve to Boxing Day. It was absolute heaven. It looks better in person than in pictures too which is a plus because it already looked beautiful! The lake is literally 30 seconds from the lodge and the view is a lovely thing to wake up to. The hot tub was well worth paying the price for! It's so relaxing especially winding down in the evenings. One night the sky was pitch black and the stars were so bright. Beautiful to look at :-) I'm not sure if it's just for winter, but the hot tub has been moved to the side of the lodge now under a canopy. Much better for when it's raining but not updated in pictures to show this. The lodge has underfloor heating which was especially welcoming with minus temperatures outside! Sometimes it got up to 28 degrees in the lodge even when turning it off, so something to bare in mind when packing! We drove down to the forest which was just a 5 minutes. Thoroughly reccomend going for a walk, it's only short if you want it to be (lots of different routes) but lovely scenery and interactive things for children as you go round. Remember to bring a pound for parking as we didn't and had to drive back! ;-) A few constructive comments... The fridge is quite small so if staying for longer a few nights it might be a struggle to get everything in. We kept drinks outside as it was so cold. The fridge also got quite warm, I'm not sure if this is because of the underfloor heating affecting the temperature but when mentioned to Sally after our stay she was very helpful. We didn't want to bother the lovely owners over Christmas but they said they had a spare one and would've brought it down! We didn't have any (free) eggs from the hens as mentioned before the lodge. This might've been due to early check in time and didn't want to bother the owners again over Christmas! Had we of known, we would've bought our own though. It's not completely private as there were a few people walking past throughout the days we were there. There are horses just outside the lodge in stables that we're taken out as well. Having saying this though, no housing looks onto the lodge from the back so it does feel private; just slightly ruined when there are people walking by. We're already having withdrawal symptoms and would love to come back in the summer this time! Thank you Sally Kim and Ash

“Fabulous cottage in peaceful setting”

Reviewed 17 Jun 2016

Wonderful peaceful setting in this lovely cottage surrounded by wildlife. The hot tub was lovely to relax in and the only disappointing thing was let down by the weather. Cottage is equipped with everything that you require and Rob and Sally go out of their way to provide excellent customer service.

A beautiful cottage which is well looked after and in a great spot. Very comfortable and was not overlooked at all when using hot tub. Owners were very helpful and friendly from booking onwards. Hope to return!!

“Fantastic”

Reviewed 16 Feb 2014

Beautiful modern cottage in countryside. Perfect place for a quiet weekend away. Hot-tub was simply superb! Warm welcome with fresh eggs was a nice touch as well. Plan on coming again. Only negative was that the bed was too small for me (6ft 4 tall) but that is a problem in most places.

“fantastic cottage and location”

Reviewed 2 Dec 2013

fantastic cottage in ideal location in froest of bowland and for trios to coast / lakes. High quality and great jacuzzi. Very private and not overlooked.

Owner's reply: We always endeavour to make our guests stay a special one, glad you enjoyed yourselves. We look forward to welcoming your sister, a booking made on the back of your referral, thank you

“A hidden gem - beautiful cottage in glorious part of the world... Reluctant to share!!”

Reviewed 19 Jun 2013

Stayed here for a week in May when the weather was typically "Lancashire" even on a dull grey day the cottage is bright and airy with wonderful views and the visiting bird population never ceased to entertain... Fresh eggs on arrival from the resident hens were delicious! A couple of footpaths are easily accessible from the cottage to the nearby Beacon Fell or a short car ride to the delights of Parlick and the fells. Beautiful part of the world. Will be going back and look forward to the re-opening of a couple of pubs that weren't available on our first visit. We ate in quite a lot to avoid driving which was actually quite nice - good provisions on offer in Garstang or the nearby Barton Grange Farm Shop and the kitchen well equipped so all rather nice and laid back. It's a lovely new build set behind a row of houses (none of which you can see from the cottage) and finished to a high standard ie underfloor heating, mood lighting and some really nice features. A truly special stay!

Owner's reply: We are pleased you enjoyed your stay it means we are doing our job right :) The landscape and wildlife are a joy to watch and never cease to amaze, we hope to see you back at the cottage again.
