OCEAN VIEW , SAO VICENTE ISLAND, CAPE VERDE

OCEAN VIEW HOUSE - Flights from various European cities Eg London, Amsterdam, Lisbon and Paris (or get flight to Sal Cape Verde and then take a short flight to Sao Vicente via Binter AIr )

Set on the attractive island of Sao Vicente, Cape Verde, the house is in a serene location in a small private development and yet only 10 minutes away by car from the City of Mindelo with its many restaurant, shops and facilities. With mountain views to the rear and ocean views to the front this is a spacious hideaway, making an ideal place to holiday when looking to escape the grey skies and needing somewhere comfortable to relax after a hard days sunbathing on the beach , a hike up Mount Verde, a spot of kitesurfing or cycling or a night on the town in Mindelo. The property has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.The living room opens onto a balcony and front facing rooms have lovely sea views including the master bedroom where there is also direct access to a balcony.Additionally there is a roof terrace which provides another area to appreciate the landscape and and perhaps spot a whale.

Car Hire is recommended as there are no shops or restaurants, just sun, sea, sky and mountains. We can help you with you this if you cannot find the hire companies on the internet. Mindelo is 10 minutes by car which has plenty of places to eat and shops. Alternatively there are some buses but not at set times.

The house is closeby to North Baia beach which you will usually have to yourself. Set across a very quiet road from the house, the beach takes maybe ten minutes to walk to down some "dunes" .

Nearby, an early morning swim in the lagoon at Baia Das Gatas is recommended where you will usually have a swim on your own in water as warm as a bath in the peaceful surroundings of the mountains dotted with the occasional colourful village dwelling. Other beaches include Praia Grande and Salamansa where there is a Kitesurf school and Sao Pedro beach where horse riding may be taken.

If you fancy a respite from beachlife, the townhouse is ideally placed for some beautiful walks or picnics along the coastline. There is easy access to the neighbouring beautiful island of Santo Antao ; ferries leave Mindelo daily for the journey (Euro8) which takes under one hour. Other islands should also be visited if time permits to appreciate the diversity of the Cape Verde Islands .
