“Wonderful week at beautiful Villa Oliveira”

Reviewed 10 Aug 2015

On our last morning at Villa Oliveira, we sat on the lovely balcony having our breakfast, listening to the sound of the waves and looking out over the green golf course to the Marriott and out to the blue sea beyond. A really idyllic place - which sums up Villa Oliveira. When we arrived at Villa Oliveira, we were struck by just how large the villa is and how close to the sea it is. We were able to have a BBQ and comfortably seat our family of 5 and 7 guests on the very large patio. The two large double rooms with ensuites upstairs were very comfortable and had plenty of cupboard space with access to the balcony overlooking the sea. The twin bedrooms downstairs were very nice with two more bathrooms. The kitchen was really well equipped and the living room/dining room seats 8 at the table and at least that again on the comfortable settees. Meanwhile our teenage sons were hugely excited to find the very warm pool, the lovely hot tub and the excellent TV/sound system with connection to Youtube etc. Susan could not have been more helpful whenever we had a question and quickly resolved a small issue with the wifi password and we quickly had connection. This was the third time that we have been to Praia d'el Rey. It really is a lovely resort - the golf course is excellent (challenging but playable) with the back 9 holes featuring some truly beautiful holes, the beach at Praia d'el Rey is quiet and flat (perfect for volleyball and beach cricket) while the beach just down the road at Foz has shallow warm water and is nice to wade in and build sandcastles. We also discovered a new restaurant at the Royal Obidos Golf Clubhouse that was delicious and provided an excellent dinner on our last evening as well as the opportunity to hire bikes and kayaks at the Obidos Lagoon. Overall, we would have no hesitation in coming back to Praia d'el Rey and we would certainly love to come back to Villa Oliveira again and would highly recommend it.

“Time to relax and enjoy”

Reviewed 22 Jul 2014

The Villa is very beautiful and well equipped. Upon arrival we were greeted with a bowl of fruit and wonderful flowers. The fridge was filled with all we needed for our first breakfast. There even is a house bar and a supply of wine. The house is in excellent condition and offers a lot of space and freedom. The kitchen is equipped with all you may need if you want to cook. The outside barbecue works perfectly. The garden is very well tended and offers quite a few places to sit down and relax. You may always find a place in the sun or shade, just as you like. The pool was heated as requested and in good condition. The views from the villa are great and it only takes a 5 minute walk to the beach. The supermarkets are a little further away, therefore a car is recommendable. There are quite a few places to visit in the area. The owners are very helpful with recommendations and directions. We had a wonderful relaxing time and enjoyed the villa thoroughly.

“Something for everyone - a wonderful & relaxing place to stay”

Reviewed 5 Aug 2013

We stayed at Villa Oliveira for 2 weeks in July 13 and had a great family holiday. The quality of the villa is first class with good finishes & excellent standards throughout. You can see it's been created by someone who enjoys using it themselves rather than just a villa set up to be rented out. Everything in the villa was as advertised and the free wifi was excellent - which is something you need when you have 3 teenagers & associated devices with you on holiday! The location is on the exclusive Praia Del Rey golf resort which is on the coast so we found that there was something for everyone. The kids enjoyed the large heated pool or going to the beach, the wife & girls sunbathed and I got to practice & play golf. There is also an activity club for teenagers - bike hire, horse riding etc - and a kids club at the nearby Marriott hotel for younger ones - which we used for a day for a 4 year old and she really enjoyed it. There are plenty of local restaurants in Sierra Del Rey ( 5km away) and Peniche is a fantastic port town with plenty of good restaurants especially for fish. We found most of the restaurants and bars much cheaper than on the Algarve. The villa also has a few terrace areas and a large BBQ on one which we used a few times and enjoyed the al fresco eating & good local wines and prices you wont believe ( don't buy on price as we found a very drinkable red called Cerejeras for about 2 Euro a bottle) . Other places we enjoyed were the Obidos Lagoon - for watersports -Obidos town for interesting shops and history & the Belengas Islanads for a day trip. One thing not to waste money on is the water parks at Peniche & Nasare - both very small and not worth it. Last thing to say is that I'd recommend a car as whilst you can wlak to the club bar & restaurant on the resort anything else requires a car or taxi.
