In town, visit the parish church of San Giorgio, built in the 16th century, and admire its precious carved wood altars. Pozzomaggiore is also a village of proud horsemanship traditions. The horse is the star attraction of most of the traditional festivals held in the village, and it even has a Museo del Cavallo dedicated to it, housed in the former monastery. Visit its fascinating collection of elaborate traditional costumes used for the chief traditional equestrian event: the Ardia di San Costantino. This is the culmination of the village's festive calendar. Held on 6 and 7 July, in front of the charming country church dedicated to San Costantino, it offers a sequence of races and amazing displays of horsemanship.
