- Very Good
Villa Boscariello has the most perfect situation with stunning views from the balcony over Positano and the sea. Yes there are 225 steps up and down but the climb is worth it and it is easy to access Positano and the beach if you are prepared for the steps!! There are many good restaurants especially if you ask for transport to and from some of them. You can cook simple meals in the apartment but there is no oven, only a small microwave Giovanni was a welcoming host and overall we loved our stay in Positano at Villa Boscariello
Everything was wonderful!! Villa/Apartment has an amazing view and very quiet, as long as you like walking up loads of steps but that is the charm of Positano, and it helps you walk off all the excellent food you must do a boat trip to Capri, book with the first hut on the harbour front Amalfi, Ravello and Pompeii are all well worth visiting It was a pleasure to meet the owner Giovanni who was very helpful and we would love to visit again soon
“5 stars for Positano, Villa Boscarlello and Giovanni's hospitality”
Wonderful place to stay, fabulous views from the Villa, well situated in town, clean and spacious accommodation. Yes as with all Positano locations there are stairs but they only add to the charm. Good value for a family of five, We hope to return!
“Wonderful location, just be prepared for the steps!”
Beautiful apartment with amazing views over the town & sea. Spent a lot of time sitting on the balconies reading, eating or just gazing at the scene. However, be warned, to get the wonderful views you need to be high up which in this case means climbing 207 steps from the road. Husband & children had no problem but it took me a week to do them all in 1 go, not helped by the high summer temperature! There are another 400+ steps down to the beach but you can then come back through Positano via the road. Positano is bigger and livelier than I was expecting but a lovely town with boat trips from the beach, alleyways of shops and plenty of cafes and restaurants to catch your breath in on the walk back up. Pompeii is an hour's drive back towards Naples and Ravello a lovely town on the hillside further around the coast. Cars can be parked in a secure car park close to the bottom of the steps to the apartment, Giovanni is a warm host and as long as you are prepared for the steps you will have a wonderful time in Villa Boscariello.
After spending a week in Positano we decided that we had lucked out by finding the best place to stay, Villa Boscariello. The Villa is perched above most of the tourist mayhem and yet still close enough to the main drag, Via Pasitea, to make restaurants and the grocery store accessible. We had our favorite place where my husband and I would go for coffee in the morning, just a 5 min walk from the house. My teen daughters felt at ease walking to the pizzeria for lunch or going out for gelato. As well we were close enough to the bus stop on top of the town, to catch buses to Amalfi that were not already packed with people. - As for the house itself, we were very comfortable here. The master bedroom has a spectacular view of the water, as does the living room, and the terrace outside the front door. Plenty of room for everyone to have a view without being on top of each other. There are also two bathrooms and two showers, very convenient when traveling with teen girls! The AC worked great, as did the washing machine. All of our beds were comfortable. The kitchen had everything we needed to make meals. - Now, obviously, to have a spectacular view like this you have to go up to get there. This means about 220 stairs from the street level to the villa. Every day we commented on how worth it the stairs were to have the views AND to have the privacy from all the other tourists. If you can climb the Duomo or any bell tower in Italy then you will have no problem at all climbing to this Villa. If you do have problems with climbing then Positano itself may not be a good choice for you, as the entire town is vertical! - One last note, every day we climbed down the 600 some stairs to the little beach directly below the Villa. Peaceful, quiet, and gorgeous water. When we were ready to return to the villa we would walk through the town following the street back to the villa as it made the walk easier and more enjoyable. - Lastly, Giovanni was a great host, answered all of our questions, and the one time we needed him he was at the door in less than two minutes. We highly recommend this place to anyone looking for beauty and tranquility in their Positano vacation. We are already dreaming of a return trip back to Villa Boscariella.
“Rent this place if you would like a lovely home and a great host.”
We were two couples traveling together. The house had plenty of space, a very nice kitchen, two bathrooms, washing machine, and dishwasher. That's the basics. The terrace with the view of the sea is what makes the place. Giovanni, the owner is great to work with. He even left us a bottle of his home made wine that we enjoyed while sitting and watching the sea. We found it to be both relaxing and luxurious. The only down side was the many steps you have to climb to get there. But that's Positano. It's built on the side of a mountain. If you're looking for a clean, well maintained, well equipped house in and ideal vacation spot, then snap this up before someone else gets it.
“Comfortable and spacious with spectacular views”
We were two couples and a 9 year old and there was plenty of space for us to relax. The accommodation is really well equipped with comfortable beds and two bathrooms. There are a lot of steps to reach the villa but the views totally justify the effort. Giovanni was a wonderful host and was extremely helpful in giving information about the local area. There are a number of lovely restaurants and a beautiful beach within walking distance. However enjoying dinner on our own private terrace overlooking the twinkling lights of Positano was hard to beat.
“Balconies Galore with Stunning Views!”
Our family of 4 (with two young children) stayed at Villa Boscariello for a week in May. The apartment is perched well up the hill overlooking the town and the sea. It was extremely clean with comfortable furnishings and plenty of space. We were able to cook easily in the well-stocked kitchen. The owner –Giovanni—made us feel at home and even gave us a bottle of his homemade wine upon arrival which was well-received after a long day of traveling. Our stay in Positano was extremely relaxed thanks to Villa Bosciarello. I've already recommended this villa to friends and family. Next time we visit Positano, this villa will be our first choice. SOME SUGGESTIONS FOR YOUR STAY IN POSITANO: Board the small boat in Positano with the big red fish labeled Da Adolfo which takes you to a semi-private beach and restaurant. Hike the Path of the Gods: we took the local bus up to Nocelle, hiked for 1 hour, then came back. If our 3 year old can do it, you can. After the hike be sure to eat at Santa Croce in Nocelle. Another must do restaurant in the area is La Tagliata–the culinary highlight of our trip to Positano. It's a bit pricey but worth every cent! Take out pizza at Fornilla. Pizza is much cheaper as take-out. Last thing….embrace the steps: Yes, a few hundred no matter where you go. It gets easier, never easy (blame it on gravity, not the Villa or Positatno). The steps are part of what makes Positano so charming and perfect in my opinion!
We stayed at this villa for 7 days in June. Very clean, spacious and well equipped. The kitchen had everything we needed to cook our own meals if we wanted. The apartment has a main bathroom with toilet, a separate toilet and a separate shower, plenty of facilities for a family or group. The views are amazing. We enjoyed sitting in either terrace and watching life in Positano. There are plenty of steps up to this apartment, but as other reviewers have said the view and space is worth it. You are away from the hustle and bustle, so it is peaceful and relaxing. If you need something you only have to ask Imperati Giovianni the owner who is very helpful with tips and advice. We shopped at the supermarket at the top of Positano. The food is cheaper here than in the main town. You can buy your food and then have it delivered to the villa, so you don't have to carry a heavy load. Near the supermarket at the top of Positano is where you catch the Sita bus, which goes to Sorrento etc. We took the bus to Sorrento and then the train to Pompeii. We also did the walk of the gods; you catch the Sita bus to Amalfi and change outside the tourist information shop to a green bus to take you to "Bomerano" a small town close to Agerola. The walk starts in Bomerano and carries on to Nocelle; you can have lunch there or take all the steps down to Positano again. Walking wise it took us less than 3 hours, we are average fitness (family of 4, including 2 teenagers). The walk is worth doing as the views are great. We also spent some days just going to the local quieter beach and just taking in Positano life itself. Also enjoyed the limoncello made in Positano. Hope to come back some day soon and would definitely stay at this villa again.
“Amazing view, friendly welcome, great wifi!”
this was a success right from the beginning. Giovanni was welcoming and helpful and made sure we were well settled in. We were stunned by the views and enjoyed every moment on the various balconies/terraces (three viewing spots in total), sunbathing on the deck chairs and sipping on limoncello. Apartment was very light and well equipped. The walk into town and the main beach was easy (only 10-15 minutes down the steps), however, some of the best restaurants were right near the villa (only 2 minutes away).
