“A beautiful apartment with panoramic views of Portsmouth”
Having seen a programme about Sea Cities that included Portsmouth, my family thought we should discover the rea. We were very fortunate to find this apartment. It is clean, modern, well appointed and is situated on the 12th floor, but you won't be affected by that as your eye is drawn to look at the expansive horizon. It has a neat kitchen with all the equipment you need to feed a family of four. It was a pleasure to deal with the staff when booking this apartment. I was a bit apprehensive about the £300 security deposit that was requested prior to arrival but It was soon repaid after departure. Portsmouth pleasantly surprised us. The Historic dockyard, which has HMS Victory amongst other attractions, was fascinating. We caught the ferry over to the Isle of Wight & journied down to Ventnor. We also walked along the front to Southsea to pay our respects at The Naval memorial for the lives lost during past conflicts. We will certainly visit Portsmouth again and hope to book this apartment again.
“Lovely accommodation, amazing view”
From start to finish our experience here was brilliant. Danielle at the Naval Trust ensured we had everything we needed, including a travel cot, and the car park chap was very helpful and even helped us to our apartment with a couple of our bags - handy when it's on the twelfth floor and you have two young children. The quality of the apartment was excellent and the kitchen very well equipped. The food essentials there for our arrival (bread, juice, milk, wine, biscuits, butter etc) were very welcome and very useful. The view from the apartment was amazing and it's so convenient for both the Historic Docks and Gunwharf.
“A wonderful place stay, with views and comfort top class”
Once you have figured out where you can park your car (as advised a dedicated parking space) you won't have any more worries. This apartment was as the description, nothing to let it down. First class accommodation. The first thing that you can't resist doing is going to the windows to take in the amazing views of Portsmouth Harbour. I took lots of magazines to read but never even finished one, and we only had the television on for the news. I loved watching the ferries and boats which sail right past the windows. The beds are so comfortable and the rooms so quite, I woke up really refreshed, good job really as we seemed to do so much, the apartment is within walking distance of all the sights of Portsmouth, 5 minutes walk to the Historic dockyard, 10 minutes walk to Gunwharf Quays and the Spinnaker Tower, 20 minutes walk to Southsea, 15 minutes walk to Portsmouth town. We didn't want to use the car to have a complete rest and this apartment allows you to do that, even the train and bus station is only 5 minutes away. My partner and I took my Mother with us and she is 83, and we thought we would be leaving her in the apartment, but oh no, she could manage to walk everywhere with us most of the time. I will definitely be back, and hope that it will be soon, we had an amazing, wonderful holiday in this outstanding apartment by the sea.
“Great location with fab views”
Only spent two nights here whilst visiting the naval dockyard. Lovely apartment with everything you need. Excellent location for the dockyard and gunwharf quays. Wonderful views.
The view was amazing we all enjoyed just sitting n watching the boats coming and going. We was in the middle of everything only used our car once. The only thing I'd change about this place would be air conditioning as we found it very warm and stuffy. Hope to be going again.☺
“Epic view, top location, thoughtfully kitted out....”
... this flat comes highly recommended by us (parents + teenager). Everything you need for a pleasant break is provided in this well kitted-out apartment, and the welcome pack of milk, bread, wine and other essentials was a great help. You overlook HMS Victory and Warrior in the Historic Dockyard itself - fabulous visitor attraction - and are within easy walking distance of the city centre (about 15min) and Gunwharf Keys (eateries, cinema, outlet shopping) are about a 10min stroll away in the opposite direction. The departure point for the Isle of Wight passenger ferry is also just minutes away by foot. But the view is truly stunning, captivating all day long, with the busy port, the Solent, people and traffic passing far below on the street. Also wonderful at night. The car park and management staff were particularly helpful, especially Clare Green, the administrator, both with safely storing our roof box (as the car would not fit in with it on due to low ceilings, though the car parking space itself was plenty big enough for our enormous Audi Q7) and with making sure all was in order when we checked out. We were very comfortable in the apartment as a family of 3. Perhaps a bigger bed in one bedroom would make the main bedroom feel even more luxurious, and twin beds in the other room would work better for families - had our other teenager been with us, he would not have been best pleased at sharing a bed with his brother. Of course, we would not have chosen this flat if all 4 of us were holidaying - and I would have missed out on that awesome view.
We stayed here in July, myself, husband and Mother. The apartment has the best views of any apartment that we have stayed in, and most evenings were spent just watching the harbour, and all the ships and boats moving backwards and forwards. The apartment is very comfortable, showers in both bathrooms, although the one over the bath was a little tricky to get into! Very close to Gunwharf Quays, a Spar shop under the apartment block, plenty of takeaways nearby and with good parking facilities. I would definitely come again.
