"Very convenient and cosy ; the conservatory is a bonus."
Th cottage is well appointed , with clear instructions about everything including the care and placing of dogs . The beds were comfortable . The position right behind the pub had its plusses and few minuses. The only problem was the designated car park behind the cottage as it is reached by a narrow concrete path with an awkward turn which put us off using it . However in the off season there are plenty of parking places nearby in the square . There are no sea views.

"Lovely Traditional cottage in a perfect Cornish fishing village"
Please ignore a previous review, This is a lovely warm cottage in the middle of Portscatho. It is very clean, comfortable, well equipped and perfectly positioned for walking and sight seeing. The village has 2 fantastic pubs, a boat club, Deli/bakery, butchers, cafe, lovely gift shops and 2 galleries. There are various restaurants near by and a local Farm shop selling veg, meat and locally caught fish. We loved it so much we are already booked for next new year. The owner has 4 dwellings all perfectly formed and very reasonably priced for their standard and the area they are in. Fowey and Falmouth are very close and great for a day out. What ever your outdoor hobby is, you will find it here.
We are so glad you had a lovely holiday. We also find the village and location very hard to beat. Thank you

"Comfy no-nonsense cottage in a great place to take a break"
My wife and I stayed for a week in April. Shorelines is a lovely cottage. It is simple, with little in the way of frills, but we found it clean and comfortable and with everything we needed and more. The bed was especially comfortable, the best of any cottage we've stayed in. This place isn't a pristine show-home - some of the furniture has a bit of wear and not everything matches - but it has loads of character and is in a great location. If it is truly, vitally important to you for the crockery to all match, then you might want to go somewhere else less real. As for us. We'll be going back!

I have just booked to stay at Shorelines in December - the 3rd visit to this cottage in 2 years & my partner & I are looking forward to it despite what 'Dirty, Dirty, Dirty' says. The cottage is very comfortable & we have always felt most welcome there. We have not had any problems about the cleanliness, it has always been clean on our arrival to a high standard. There has never been a problem with the kitchen equipement. It has always met our needs, been clean & functional. I don't see the problem with the light bulbs. So what if some have blown? Take them from somewhere else if you really want to use those lights or buy some. Life's too short & Portscatho is too beautiful to worry about such things. We have our dogs staying with us when we go down to Shorelines. We are acutely aware of ensuring the place is spotless when we leave...no trace of our dogs. It is our experience that most dog owners that care to take their pets on holiday to rental cottages are the same. There are other properties available which don't allow dogs & offer 5* accommodation & in Portscatho. Shorelines is comfortable & long may it stay that way! Angela is always very accommodating, warm & friendly & prompt in her replys. I must admit I find it very annoying when she replies to my emails by standing on the Lugger (the harbour wall) but purely because I am jealous of the fact she is down there! Carry on doing it Angela. I have absolutely no problems in recommending Shorelines to others including my friends & family!

"Fabulous Relaxing Tranquil"
A friend and I holidayed in Shorelines in May and had a lovely time. The accommodation is perfect and spacious. Everything we needed was to hand and we even named some friendly pigeons who visited us every morning and evening. The village is very quaint and the locals are very friendly. The pub is excellently situated opposite and the food is great. One downside is no wifi or phone signal, however this can be obtained from the harbour club or the pub which are literally just across the road and would not stop me from visiting again. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would recommend this property to anyone. Thank you for providing such a lovely cottage to holiday in, in such an idyllic village.

"Wonderful family holiday"
We had a fantastic week in Shorelines. After a long week at work we were relieved to find a delightful cottage with no problems, and were very impressed on arrival (since it was our first - and hopefully not last! - time here). The cottage was beautiful, bright and fresh, and stylishly decorated, ideal for a holiday home. A sizeable cottage which was perfect for the young and for grandparents who came to stay; very comfortable and peaceful. It was nice to have a light conservatory. We found it to be a fantastic location - walking distance from the Plume of Feathers Pub (friendly and welcoming atmosphere, plus great food!), but also just a minute's walk from the beach, which we found very child-friendly. The walks were fantastic; we walked to Portloe from the Nare Head (absolutely stunning views despite the not-so-fantastic weather), and did several shorter walks along the cliffs from the village, away from any roads which suited us perfectly with the dogs. The weather was not perfect but this did not dampen our spirits and we thoroughly enjoyed our holiday, as did the children from looking through the photos! We would not hesitate to recommend Shorelines to friends and family of all ages, and we would very much hope to take time off next Summer and take the children back for another great holiday.

I booked this cottage in Portscatho after having been down to Cornwall in the summer for over 20 years! My husband and I, and our 4 month old baby were very much looking forward to our holiday. Initially, from the outside the cottage looked delightfull, very pretty. Unfortunately once inside our opinion rapidly changed. Here are some, but not all, of the reasons why:- - Out of the four light bulbs in the conservatory only one worked - There was no handle on the sliding conservatory door - The sofa in the conservatory was covered in stains and filthy - In the sitting room my husband had to hoover when we got there because the carpet was covered in hairs, which appeared to be dog - The green chair in the sitting room also had to be hoovered, because what appeared to be flakes of skin were all over it - The covers on all the furniture were dirty - In the kitchen all the crockery, cutlery and cookware had to be dish washed before we could use it, as covered in food and grease - The cupboards had to be wiped down because they were also covered in grease - There were no wine glasses except two mismatched ones that someone had obviously stolen from the pub - There was no colander, and the flat oven trays were too large for the oven - The lamps in the bedroom hadn’t had there electrical tests in 2 years, and as far as I can tell the microwave etc had never been tested. I contacted the owner on our return, which was two days earlier as we could not stand it anymore. She replied by saying only, "What a shame. I have not been down for a while as the cottages have been fully booked and I have had an op which has put me out of action. I have forwarded your e-mail to my house keeper." The customer service from her has been appalling, and she will now not reply to my emails. I would not recommend this cottage to anyone.
I am deeply saddened by these comments. I have been letting holiday cottages in Portscatho for many years and never been addressed in this manner - on the contrary most of my business is from repeat bookings and recommendations and the visitors books are full of more than satisfied "customers" wanting to return year after year.

"Fabulous as always!"
Third consecutive July/August in Portscatho in Angela's' wonderful cottages. As ever, Sunny Side was welcoming, comfortable and homely. Flambards was done, as usual - kids love it and with its free return entry in 7 days deal, a great distraction if the weather isn't kind. The Feathers, a minuets walk away, offers good value Pub Grub and very child friendly. Porthkernick Beach for dog friendly, sandy beach and the 'Hidden Hut' for delicious local ice creams and gourmet events -see website and book well in advance! Really too many places to mention and great fun to find for yourself! Porthbean, (next beach along) offers some peace and tranquillity. Already looking at next years booking!
