Crayfish Cottage, Portrush: Spacious, stylish, seaside cottage 2 minute drive to East Strand Beach and Portrush Harbour. Free-WIFI, wood-burning stove, super-comfy beds, two separate lounge areas, family-friendly (cot, toys, dvds, family games and jigsaws etc), "secret" garden, patio and BBQ area, private off-road parking, brilliantly-equipped kitchen and utility room.

Built in the 1930s, Crayfish Cottage is a traditional seaside cottage packed with beautiful art deco features, but with all the comforts of a thoughtful, modern restoration.

Sleeping 6 - 2 double bedrooms (downstairs), 1 twin bedroom (upstairs) - each bedroom offers crisp white sheets and snuggly duvets. The family bathroom has a shower, separate bathtub with fluffy towels and complimentary toiletries. The fully-equipped kitchen leads to the dining area. Drying room with washing machine, tumble dryer, full height fridge freezer and storage space for rods, clubs, boards, boots and other kit.

Deep armchairs and sofas surround the wood-burning stove in the lounge . The Reading Room on the first floor is a place to relax, read and play games. With a twin bedroom just opposite, this makes a brilliant top floor hang-out for younger guests in the family who get to enjoy their very own space.

With downstairs bedrooms and bathrooms this property would also be suitable for older guests and those with limited mobility (apologies - no wheelchair access).

There's plenty of outdoor space too with a lawn area at the front and a hidden garden to the side with BBQ, picnic table and patio creating a magical space for sitting under the stars (yes, perhaps with a coat on knowing our weather!)

Crayfish Cottage is a two minute drive or a fifteen minute walk to the heart of Portrush town right amongst favourite restaurants, bars and shops. The nearest supermarket is a 5 minute walk away.

Getting around

To make the most of the stunning Causeway Coastal Route - with its post-card pretty villages, white sand beaches and wild rock formations - we'd recommend a car. Car hire is available from both airports, ferry terminal and the nearby town of Coleraine. Portrush Harbour and East Strand Beach is only a 15 minute walk from Crayfish Cottage. The nearest supermarket is 5 minutes away (delicious fresh bread, fruit and provisions). At the end of our road is the main Coleraine Road (A2) with bus stops. From there you can see Portrush station with links to Belfast and Derry (the Coleraine-Derry route has some beautiful scenary).

Interaction with guest

We'll be there to greet you on arrival, give you the keys and show you around the property. If it's local knowledge you're after, we've plenty of suggestions for things to see and do as well as places to eat. Feel free to text or call us if you've questions during your stay. If you're travelling with young children, just let us know. We can offer a cot, highchair, stairgate and basket of toys.

“Cosy, stylish, tardis of a cottage full of character”

I love when the reality is even better than the photos! Nicci was a great help before my stay and welcomed me with warmth and information that would put a fancy hotel to shame. We are a family of seven with children ranging from 16 months to 15 years old and literally wanted for nothing. I felt like the baby was provided for as if he was one of Nicci's family coming to visit. I really enjoyed the quirky, interesting, stylish decor, I kept stopping to admire something else, but it's cleverly done so I wasn't on tenterhooks telling the kids not to touch things! Even the sheets on the bed are high thread count... the master bed is soft which isn't my cup of tea but that's just individual preference. It is clearly a labour of love for the owners who take great pride in the cottage. It's easy to find and convenient for everything the North Coast has to offer. Having visited the beach and Barry's as a child, then Kelly's as a teenager, I've fallen in love with the destination again as a parent. Wee gem of a cottage and excellent value.

Immaculate cottage. Every thing you need and more. ( Xmas tree, hot water bottle). Nicci was extremely accommodating and welcoming.

Had a great time at this cottage perfect location so much room my niece 8 years old loved it I'm due at baby 5weeks time and have never had a better sleep beds are so comfortable

How do damage deposits work?
