Location description from owner

Northern Ireland region

Very beautiful coast line with stunning scenery, good beaches and places of interest. The Giant's Causeway, Dunluce Castle and Carrick-a-Rede rope bridge are within easy driving from Portrush. The famous Busmills Distillery is only 15 minutes drive away.

The town has two link's golf courses namely Rathmore and the famous Royal Portrush course, home of both the 2010 US Open golf winner Grahame McDowell and now the 2011 Open champion Darren Clarke. Both are within walking distance from our apartment.

Portrush

All three of Portrush's beaches were awarded The Good Beach Award in 2011. The West Strand which is just across the road from our apartment was awarded Blue Flag Status in 2010. With all the amenities nearby including water sports and a promenade with beautiful views all the way to the picturesque harbour, you'll find yourself relaxed and at ease.

Portrush itself is a lively tourist location with amusements, an indoor swimming complex, cinema, children's soft play centre, outdoor play areas, outdoor swimming area at the East strand, coffee shops and boutiques, bars and nightclubs and award winning restaurants and bistros.

Entertainment is high on the agenda with The Northern Ireland International Air Show, The Raft Race, The North West 200 motorcycle race, Open Surfing Competition, Pipe Band Contests and Live Music Event 'Live on the Beach'. Of course perhaps one of the most attractive aspects of Portrush is the Golf courses which are home to legends such as Graeme McDowell, winner of the US Open and Ryder Cup in 2010. The most famous sights to see are the incredibly formed Giants Causeway or the rather intimidating Carrick-a-Rede rope bridge.

Stayed here with my son and his wife for the air show and the location is amazing as is the view.House was exceptionally clean and cosy.None of us wanted to go home.Ken the owner is very helpful and text me to see if everything was alright.would certainly recommend this house to anyone and will return myself at some stage.

Thanks for your kind comments and really glad to hear you enjoyed your stay.

“Glorious Views and Friendly Host”

We chose this property because of it's location and were not disappointed. It is just a few minutes walk both from the beach and the town centre of Portrush and boasts the best views from both the upstairs lounge and the master bedroom. The house is on three storeys, was tastefully decorated and very clean. Kitchen, laundry facilities and dining area on the ground floor. There is a spacious bathroom with a shower on the first floor as well as a comfortable lounge with TV and a single bedroom. The master bedroom and bunkbed room are on the top floor. The owner met with us on our arrival to hand over the keys and give some information about the heating etc and the best places to eat which did not let us down. Even though we were there in a very cold March, the house was always lovely and warm and we found everything we needed. Parking outside the front door was not a problem as it was quiet but the owner also has private car parking towards the rear of the property. Couldn't have asked for more and would definitely recommend the simply for the location and views.

Perfect central location to all amenities.. Shops, pubs, fantastic dining right across the road at the harbour. We walked everywere. The beach is a stones throw away. Be sure to try the coast or wine bar at the harbour and a trip to barrys is a must. Will be back again next year.
