Location description from owner

The England region

Portreath is on the rugged north coast of West Cornwall & sits along the South West Coast Path. Portreath is quite central to most major towns in west Cornwall with driving distances to...St Ives 25km, Penzance 30km, Newquay 30km, Truro 20km, Falmouth 22km, Camborne/Redruth 7km. Land's End 46km & The Lizard 40km.

Portreath

Portreath has a year round thriving resident community....Just 4 miles/7km from the urban area of Camborne, Pool & Redruth where can be found most of the major supermarket brands. The village has several pubs,a mini super-market,bakery,wellness centre, several cafes & beach shops & a childrens play-ground. Mother nature is all around us in Portreath within a few minutes walk are the South West Coast Path & Illogan Woods & a few minutes drive away are Tehidy Country Park public recreation area & the Tehidy Park golf club. Portreath has a historic working harbour,a wealth of UNESCO historical Mining Heritage sites nearby & one of the nicest beaches on the north coast favoured by visitors & many locals alike for its family friendly appeal & on occasions challenging board surfing & body boarding Atlantic swells. Portreath certainly lacks the rampant over commercialism & peak season crowds found in some Cornish coastal hotspots like St Ives, Newquay & Padstow!
